my contract is up 5th july and im sending written notice to 3 in the next couple of days (via recorded ) as i have such terrible signal in this area since they lost the mast share they had.
Im now in a dilema as to what phone I want lol. I iniatially had my heart set on a pink s2, then I saw my mates galaxy note and wanted that despite the size, now im umming over the size of it, and after a deciding i didnt like the look of the s3 cos of the curved design I now quite like it!!!!! God im such a stereotypical woman arent I lol:rotfl:
Obviously there has been some issue with the s3 delaying the delivery, but am sure by the time it comes to me taking out a new contract in a month it'll all be sorted, and maybe a bit cheaper lol.
Looking for peoples opinions, would I be mad to get an s2 when the newer model is out????

In my humble opinion the S2/3 is the direct competitor of the Iphone in terms of looks and what it can do, but is much better / more advanced than the Iphone.
If I wanted something that size then I would get the S3 I cant see the point 'upgrading' to an older model phone, even though there is nothing 'wrong' with the S2 I believe there are a lot of new features on the S3.
The only reason why I went for the Note (after owning an Iphone 4 and had Iphones for the last 4 years) is because I love the larger screen. Also being a woman helps with the size issue as it doesnt have to be kept in a pocket as man do, but we can put in on our handbag0 -
Yes you would be mad to get the s2 instead of s3, but it depends what you want to spend? You can probably get an S2 for 10 pound less a month. Order the marble white and you should get it pretty quick as there are no problems with this version. its only the pebble blue's I got my S3 marble white delivered today as estimated, no problems. See my post.Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect and don't live to be. But before you start pointing fingers - make sure your hands are clean. Bob Marley - Legend.0

I had a very similar dilemma a couple of weeks ago when deliberating between pink S2, white S3, Note & HTC One X.
Made a list of pros and cons for each and decided to go for the Note. Now I'm used to it I really don't know how I've managed with my previous phones' tiny screens
The S2 is by no means "obsolete" if that's your concern; depending on how much you're willing to spend it may be a better idea to get the S2 after the S3 has been out for a while, and the S2's price drops a bit.
The Note's screen also looks much nicer than the S2, whose colours seem over saturated - at least on the display model I played around with. Its size has both pros and cons - pro being that it's big and is almost a tablet replacement, has higher resolution, everything looks better... but downside is that a lot of the time I have to navigate it using both hands.
Also in the case of the S3, I personally don't like being an early adopter and prefer waiting a month or two, read reviews, make sure any minor issues have been ironed out, etc. If I'm going to be stuck with a contract for 2 years I want to make sure I have a good phone.
I would recommend going to a phone shop when you can to have a fiddle with the phones or ask for a demo. It's really important to pick a phone that's right for you rather than based on recommendations.0 -
I'm in the horns of a similar dilemma, but I'm tending towards a SIM free Note and switching to giffgaff. Just waiting for a good deal. Asda are doing the white one for £369 (which over 24 months with a £10 goody bag is the equivalent of a £25 a month unlimited data tariff with a 'free' phone and no tie in as no contract). But I want blue and in any case, the white is out of stock.
Anyone seen any good sim free Note deals lately? There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

I'm about to go SIM only on my Nokia E5 but would be up for a Note at the right price. Presumably when Iphone 5 comes out the Note will get smashed by the hype and it will have been out for nearly a year then?0

Easy, if you have no problem with the note size, go with that.If you have a problem with the note size and want to save some cash (contract) and still have a phone thats up there with the best, go for galaxy s2.
Lastly if you want/must have the latest tech and can afford the higher contact or sim free prices go for the galaxy s3.
All wont disappoint.0 -

I've ruled it out as it has no memory card slot (inexplicably). There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

im still leaning towards the note, have found it on dial a phone via omio search site, orange 24 month contract, £28.50 month, 600 min, unlimited texts and 1gb data. I have about 5 weeks of my contract left so still time to ummmm and ahhhh.
I have played with the note and the s2 as a couple of my mates had them. The one with the s2 originally had the note but took it back as she couldnt handle the size of it lol. problem is i like both lol0
