Okay. You may have to come to an arrangement as regards your debts. It's well worth speaking to someone at PayPlan or CCCS to arrange affordable monthly payments. Without those debts, you could manage. Again, I think you will find it difficult to persuade the benefits office that you need assistance paying off debts when you are sat on a £120k asset.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

If you are ill and may receive ESA then your NI will be credited.
Do you not pay 2 lots of NI as a self employed person.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

First things first get in touch with one of the debt management charities, for more info try the Debt Free Wannabe board. They will be able to speak to the people you owe money to and get them to accept reduced payments. It will affect your credit rating but unfortunately with such a limited income you have no other choice. The sooner you contact them the better, and it will be one less thing for you to worry about.worriedinstaffs wrote: »Monthly Expenditure

Secondly get yourself a prescription pre payment card, it cost £104 a year but you can pay for it in 10 monthly instalments of £10.40 a month. It will cover all the prescriptions you need and save you money straight away.0 -
Okay, sound advice guys thankyou.
I just want to get well and back to work but I'm very aware of the fact that this is a constant worry to me and hampering my recovery.
All the best to all of you!0 -

I think you are supposed to pay 2 lots, Class 2 and Class 4 but ask at the job centre.
Hope you make a speedy recovery.

You could ditch all of that - and your board is very high. None of it is essential - except the prescriptions and they would come in at £10 a month on a pre payment plan.
You might be entitled to CB JSA six months or CB ESA for 12 months but nothing else - and quite rightly so.0
