If you don't mention DTD, they will usually just refund you the difference back. If you say about DTD, they will give you it.

Last week, I popped in to T to do some late night bargain hunting.
I strolled down the toy aisle and came across Monster High dolls marked at £11.97.
I knew that the dolls on the shelf were the more expensive £25 dolls, but there was not another label any where.
I scanned them through and sure enough they came up at £22.97.
took to CS, asked about the DTD and they refunded me £66.
I got all three dolls for £97p each :)
Thank you Mr T for my daughters christmas presents.

Hello all have read this thread with interest but just can't quite get it straight in my head . If I found something with a price error that I do want to buy I take it to CS tell them about the error if they give me the dtd do they then sell the item to you at the cheaper price or do they try to sell it at the full price ? Sorry to be a bit thick but don't want to make a fool of my self at CS or be fobbed off .

You see (eg) Cheese at £2 per pack (half price offer)

You get charged £4, offer not kicked in or out of date.

You go to the normal checkout, keep quiet and buy the cheese for £4.

THEN you go to customer services with your cheese saying 'the SEL (Shelf Edge Label) says it is half price and I've been charged full price.

Customer services are then supposed to give you DTD, so a £2 overcharge = £4 back in your pocket, meaning free cheese :) (If they say they will buy it back and then sell it to you for £2, refuse as you are entitled to DTD, the rules of which are at customer services on a blue board)

You must always buy the item first, and then go to customer services. Never mention it before then.

Once you have your first DTD under your belt, you'll be addicted, haha.

Look for items on offer that have an out of date SEL on them. Anything half price or more = free or profit for yourself.

When you find a good one, come back here and tell us all what it is ;)

    Good Luck

Tesco have 400g punnets of strawberries reduced to £1.29 in our store, yellow sticker, with a red sticker on them saying FREE fresh single or double cream, normal price for the cream is 58p. went to self service till and was charged for the cream. went to customer services saying an overcharge and they said it was because of the reduced sticker not allowing the cream to be free. So as it was an overcharge I got back £1.16. DD.
    Reduced strawberry £1.29
    Cream 58p
    total £1.87
    Overcharge 58p x 2 because of DD
    refund of £1.16
    Strawberries and cream 71p
So I went back in and got 6 more as they had loads reduced.
This will only work in stores with reduced strawberries.

I bought 3 packs of whoopsied strawberries the other evening for 20p each (best bargain I have ever found in the reduced bit) so I asked the guy on the checkout if I could still get the cream for free, but he said 'no', as the strawberries were reduced then the other offers dont apply.
Is this correct, or should I have been entitled to the cream aswell, as it had it in a big red sticker on each packet of strawberries that the cream was free?

i think that's rubbish imo. it said free cream on them! you should get the free cream, whether or not if the product has been reduced.

You should of insisted that you get the cream. The item states free cream regardless of them being reduced..
