I booked an appointment with a mobile hairdresser, she said she would be here at 12, I got a message saying very sorry to mess you about but it will be 1 now as my last lady has a colour correction, its 25 past now and shes still not here. Would you think this was very bad business? or just think oh dear never mind?

It IS bad business, but sometimes we all have a bad day at work. Personally I'd let it go this time and give her the benefit of the doubt, but I certainly wouldn't put up with it twice.0

I quite understand how appointments can over run, I was late for my wedding because the lady at the time who did my hair took so long long and it still wasn't finished when I got there lol. I will let it go this time Iv heard good things about her but I hate sitting around waiting

I'd be furious.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

I use a mobile hairdresser (have done for nearly 3 years) and she has arrived on time once! She has been an hour early, and up to 3 hours late!!!
However, this is just the way she is, and I find "creative" type personalities really bad with time keeping!! No offence to creative people!
I don't mind if she is late because she is the best hairdresser I have had, so when I have an appoitment I write the entire day off just to make sure I get my hair done!!0 -
I have a mobile hairdresser who has been coming for the last eight years.
She comes once a month and is very very rarely on time. However this is just the way she is and i am completly used to her.
Also she is brilliant and has put up with a lot over the years, from kids throwing themselves on the floor for how "awful" or "too short" their haircut is, to both me and my husband having to "clamp" a very uncooperative child whom is trying to escape the chair while only having had half an haircut.
Plus she is a fab hairdresser with over 20 years experience and very cheap prices. Last time she was here it was £14 for me and 3 kids proper haircuts :T. So I can't complain.0 -

Personally, if your that flipping' late I'll go elsewhere. Someone I knew had a family mobile hairdresser that said she would turn up to cut everyone's hair between 8am and 10pm one day!
They tried to get me to use her, but after she arrived at my empty flat 4 hours late and called to ask me where I was, I politely advised her that I was in the hairdressers.
Needless to say, she wasn't very good either. She seemed to have 'mobile' visits too penisoners more than anything, and you could tell she was used to fluffing up and patting down rather than styling.
Personally, if I'm paying someone for a service, the time they have told me they will arrive is the time I expect them. I do not have 4 hours to faff about while Linda goes and has a subway lunch!0 -

I think with anyone 'mobile' you need a bit of leeway and although frustrating she did contact you initially and let you know there was a problem and is probably racing to get to you rather than texting again. I presume that if you were the lady needing the colour correction you would want her to sort you out rather than just leaving you and if it is not convenient you should therefore be able to re-arrange on your own terms. The price difference between a mobile hairdresser and a salon means that it's not as slick a service and shouldn't expect to be on a par where there are other staff members to pick up the slack and to wash, blow dry etc. (although I wouldn't compromise on the skill of the hairdresser). Hopefully by now she has been and gone and you are happy with your new hair - and not undergoing a colour correction yourself due to her poor technique :eek:0 -

And we wonder why mobile hairdressers are sometimes late? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I'm "mobile" during my work hours and I never commit myself to a specific time for house calls because I know that just one set of roadworks, one phonecall from a worried parent, one flat tyre, one broken down bus along the main road, etc etc, can delay me by an hour or more. I just give everyone a two-hour window and I always let them know when I'm on my way or if I'm going to be later/earlier than expected. Give her the benefit of the doubt and see what her hairdressing skills are like. If she's as good as her reputation, you won't mind so much about the wait!
