Home Broadband & Landline

Options
Hi can anyone help me? I am currently with Orange for my Broadband and also my landline, I get free calls evenings and weekend to landline numbers, I am being charged £23.50 a month for both, when i double checked it says i am paying £11.50 per month for basic broadband and £12.00 for my line rental but my bills are coming in at around £40 - 50. Its not always that high, Orange suggested i change plan and go onto anytime calls which would cost me an extra £5 a week, I am slightly confused and need advice as to where to go, i see all these offers for half price broadband for a year and some as low as £3.25 a month and the same goes for a landline package, now do i change over or can anyone help advise me as how to find a cheaper better deal, thank you x

    Welcome to MSE.
First off, check your terms & conditions [contract] with Orange, changing supplier may be expensive if you are locked into, say, a 2 year contract

We do not know just who & how you are making phone calls, do Orange have itemised bills, with number called? MAybe you are calling mobiles? No idea, just guessing

Check out the likes of 18866, where you dial an over ride number first, then the real number, can dramatically reduce call costs

A lot of suppliers are / have introduced "connection fee" which can far exceed the cost of the call

If the extra £20-£30 per month is for exclusive calls, then obviously you need to analyse what you are using and then switch your tariff accordingly. If you make more than £5pm of exclusive calls that would be covered by Anytime, then that is an obvious saving.
You must be making a huge no. of exclusive calls: daytime, mobiles, premium, overseas etc.
