Help my car is driving me nuts....

I have a 2000 Mondeo that is driving me nuts and causing a big hole in my wallet.
Ok let me tell you what I have done so far. New drive shafts, drop links, wish bones, suspension struts and springs. The only thing left to replace is anti roll bar bushes, torque restrictor and wheel bearings. As you can imagine this has cost me quite a bit, not only in cash but in grazed knuckles, and the bloody thing is still knocking on the front end......
Can anybody save me from going completely insane?????

    Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    When is it knocking?

Cornering? Full lock? Part lock? Over potholes? On rough surfaces? When accelerating? Braking?

For all of the above, at high speed, low speed or all speeds?

    All the time or intermittently?

low speed, intermittent, acceleration and part lock, over bumps. It's not as obvious as it was but still there......

Did you test any of the components before you changed them, or was it a "stab in the dark" diagnosis?

You're gonna be really annoyed when you find out this is an exhaust mounting lol

did you change the wheel hubs ?
The bearings wear the inside of the hub and move inwards, you tighten the hub bolt and they do it again.
This creates a space for the whole hub to move and it clatters and bangs its way along and scrapes on the brake disks.

Yes lol I checked, the bushes on the wishbones were shagged, I had sideways movement on the drive shafts, my suspension top joints were knackered and the springs were corroded, you could bounce the front of the car like is was on air suspension and the drop bar rubbers were starting to perish. And yes I checked the exhaust mount. There is quite a bit of play in the anti roll bar, bushes are next on the list and some slight play in the wheel bearings and torque restrictor...

    MK2 or MK3?

Petrol 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder or diesel?

Low speed when accelerating in a straight line? Or only when turn the steering?

Torque restrictor is a common issue on MK3's

LOL. Let the ruddy thing knock. That's my attitude when it comes to motoring. If it's not a safety item, I couldn't care less about it.

It's a mk2 I have the feeling it could be the anti roll bar bushes, but I intend changing the wheel bearings and torque restrictor any ways..
It is at low speeds, never at high speeds, it seems to happen mostly when turning into an inclined/declined drive or hill junction, especially those crappy road junctions with the kerb stone bump and block paving and the shop type drop kerb entrances, I try and avoid turning into dropped kerbs if I can.... occasionally on acceleration if the steering wheel isn't completely straight, but not so much now that the suspension and drive shafts have been swapped out....
It's really starting to annoy me now lol....

The car doesn't owe me anything yet money wise, but it's getting close to that stage, and I have spent quite a bit of money and time on her so I'm loathed to start all over with another car, if she lasts me another two to three years I will be a happy bunny...

Why don't you actually just test the torque limiter and the bushing to see if they're causing the issues, rather than just replacing them? Still sounds to me like you've just been changing bits in the hope that it fixes it.

Get a bar under there and start having a "prod and poke."
