Trust me ..... once you're over the half way to a century and one/two parents have plodded off .... you'll start to realise how that's just around the corner!

Goobers. (pbj in a jar) I liked goobers as a kid. Funnily enough yeaterday i really craved grape jelly so much, and i had to go to look at the supermarket but no such luck. Dh will have to get some in london if the craving comes back. Grape jelly mmmmmmmmm.

I also like some, but not all jello salads. A place that eats jelly instead of salad has to admit it has some issues regarding sugar addiction.
Cybercandy stores in London, Birmingham, Brighton (not sure which is closest for you.
Also Bentall's in Kingston used to do American sweets and other grub.

There was another American food store near parson's green I visited in the early 90s but not sure it's still there- can't seem to track it down.

Googling food images.... then getting the recipes of the nice looking things (so long as the process/ingredients seem not over-arduous) ... is my biggest pasttime of late. I've now got nearly 750 recipes for things I'd like to eat, could quite easily make ... most with photos - and fully searchable by category, tag or keyword :)

Food heaven...... of course I'll never make most of them.... but I know I've instantly got my own, personalised, "great food" cookbook on tap.

Thanks again about us food sites. There are a few besides amazon, but generally, not exclusivley but generally, i think its best to not pander to us food cravings, which often enough, s is the nature of kids food from back then, basically e numbers held together with that doubly sugary sugar.

I did have a kraft mac n cheese though not long ago because i saw ot in tesco. I made cornbread last oooh, about two yers ago i guess. Dh loves it too. And i make meat loaf occassionally. I am already getting excited about thanksgiving, and we will have candied sweet porato. ( vegetables with marshmallows re affirm my jello salad point) and pecan pie and pumpkin pie ( i adore pumpkin pie).

Pastures, I meant to say, I got a great cookbook in the booksale at the library last week. I often have to make things just for me as DH eats totally differently to me and at different times of the day. This one:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/400-Three-Four-Ingredient-Recipes/dp/0754817032/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1346083022&sr=8-4

I've got a similar book but this is by far the best.

I am content if I can:
    - turn it on
    - press a button to go up/down through all the channels
    - press buttons to make it louder/quieter.

    Anything else is a bonus.

I HATE it when I accidentally press a random button and lose it all ... and then you can only turn it all off .... count to 10 and hope that when you turn it all on again it works again by magic :)
