Firstly BuPa are going to cover me despite Us presuming this would be excluded (hurrah) and secondly, because of the nature of the delays atm they have agreed to accept a referral letter from the non bupa registered consultant.
She btw has been amazing, she phoned me twice today to say she is doing what she can to push through the nhs imaging (they have lost her referral fax and letter, within the same building). She areanged with dh to fax a letter to him tomorrow ( they were talking after all admin had left and shje could not work the fax) and to BUpa, so bupa can start doing whatever it is bupa do with letters.
You know, i heard someone snip about the fact she was in a hijab, but frankly, she has been pretty lovely and proactive and if her hijab makes her feel able to do the job she is doing then i am glad it allowed her to be there for me and her other patients.
I also, ( big round of applause expected) went to the new gps satelite durgery first thing this morning to give them their pound of flesh, or rather pint of blood).
I am glad the end of this week looks happy, because getting back on this treadmill has not been without some......stress, even without letters going missing and things taking longer than people say is safe. I have reached the end of todayu and i feel like i did last week, last month, last year. So i don't think its all going to go wrong if i do wait three weeks for the appt. once viewed that way the things faiIng themselves are less scary. E.g. If the vision in the eye had not come back i think i would be very much more frightened.
LIR, I hope that you can go ahead with whatever you need to have done, and just leave BUPA to sort out the admin later. For example, as long as your consultant is able to qualify for BUPA registration, they should do the paperwork but not hold up your treatment.
Hijabs are lovely. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
This reminded me of the classic Father Ted episode where they get lost in the lingerie departmentLIR, I hope that you can go ahead with whatever you need to have done, and just leave BUPA to sort out the admin later. I don't really know how the bupa stuff works. When i was private before someone else paid some and i paid some, it was not insurance. Dh has never used it.
My parents have and my dad says dh and i are doing it all worng, but seems to me so is everyone else, missing letters etc. W did not know till this afternoon bupa would cover me so i was trying to 'drive' nhs through. I like to drive a problem through, sort it, rather than go ahead and hope or leave it to others.
Anyway, hopefully its sorted now and i will find out tomorrow when and where. I have said local or london. I think there is a place in southhampton, but by the time i have got down there and looking for parking i could be heading out the back of john lewis to harley street, and maybe meet dh for lunch. Longer term local or london easier to get to i think, than just going anywhere.
Anyway, all this means i have not baked yet, so thats on the list for the morning now..
Edit.. The fonsultant is not registered. Not dure whether eligable or not, but bupa have said they will just accept her referral to push things through and then a registered consultant can see me after the scans and ake it from there.0 -

Thank you...i take a bow!
The gp suggested just stopping pain killers they told me to take yesterday and going to a and e to push things through. Seems a bit unfair on the other patients!
On pain killers btw, i am feeling fine. So no drama about that really.0 -

That's the problem with the NHS really. they really don't care until you are on the verge on death. Then they really go all out to save you. :rotfl:0 -

Maybe you accidentally clicked on multiquote. It's easily done.
In house news... some time ago my builder put up a curtain pole for me to go across the archway from the hall into the kitchen, so it can be out of the way most of the time but closed if there are cooking smells I want to contain. Today I am going to make a small step towards getting my act in gear, and go up in the loft to see if any of the large collection of second-hand curtains up there would do for the kitchen archway. By the looks of things it'll be a while before I can afford to buy any new curtains, so I might as well see if a free stop gap is available. Will report back shortly.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? If anyone is watching 'Undercover Boss' on ch4, I used to live literally round the corner from the Paddy Power they were just in. Might not mention that to my mum seeing as they're talking about how it has been held up more than once (not unusual for a bookies, let alone in London, but still)0

Dunno, was an ok post, but nothing special
Sorry that today has been so frustrating for you and fir. Hopefully it will all be worth it. Well done for sticking with it, if I were you I would be trying to 'drive' things too rather than just waiting, sounds like you're making some headway anyway0 -
