Telly chefs say it should be sprinkled liberally with salt and left to draw out the bitterness... then the salt has to be thoroughly washed off before adding them into the dish. I bet I've just had some that were left bitter as I've only ever had moussaka in a staff canteen in the 70s/80s.0 -

Oh, silvercar. We are thinking of you; almost certainly one of us will be here whenever you need a chat.
michaels, I believe you are owed that sit down, it must have been exhausting! Will you hold another at-home children's party after this one?
I had something Greek with aubergine and was so utterly disappointed that I'd been missing out on them all this time! The only thing I know to do with them is roast them with other med typ veg in the oven, but I would eat a lot more if I knew what to do with it or it was served in restaurants more often.
I love olives, my kids love olives more than I do so I rarely get to eat them. Capers i don't use much but I love a homemade tartare sauce or salsa verde. I wouldn't pick them off a pizza; my favourite pizza is a Four Seasons; mushrooms; olives; anchovies; capers; bring it on!
I'm so hungry now.
I fell asleep for a bit. I'm not allowed to look, but DD says she's earned around 10 pasta pieces in her room and daddy is very impressed. She has NEVER tidied her own room, unaided, this is verging on a miracle! I have sent DH to buy more pasta!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

This best sums it up :rotfl:
Rubbish. Durian is lovely. You lot have no idea what you're missing out on!!!I have packets of it freeze dried for snacking on.
In other news. I'm back in Cardiff, Dad's prognosis is not good.
HugsHope everything is well. If you need help making sense of what's going on, I can help. If you want a second opinion and it's a solid tumor, that's easy too.

oh nom nom nom. My fav dish in the entire history of human kind is pork belly slices stewed with aubergine. I also eat it grilled, fried in batter etc etc.
There is a reason why I've not lost any weight since I've started this exercising business :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

I am trying to devise food diverse tastes enjoy atmIn general, though, I am always happy to pick things I don't like off pizzas.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
