All shoppers might prefer BOGOF ...

Our local Tesco has the knack of ensuring that they only ever have 1 item in any BOGOF promotion

I've been naughty. Our Kenwood Chef packed up just two weeks out of warranty. I tried to beat it up and have now given up after the second lot of soup that exploded all over me. I bought another one from the same shop and have put the old one in the box. I'm going to leave it a couple of months and then return it. :o I don't have the time to be without it whilst arguing over whether it's fit for purpose or not.

Won't they just want to give you a replacement at that ppoint rather than a refund. If you had bought it from John Lewis in the first place I bet they would have exchanged it for you anyway.
    Having a really frustrating day.

Cannot sort out my fanancial issue because it depends on others. This is annoying in the extreme and beyond my control.

So, decided to take out my frustration on the juicer, as its summer, and take the juicer out of the cupboard for the first time this year, so for a good year at least..since the hot spell last spring i guess. Nip out, buy a ridiculous amount of fruit and veg to torture, plug the juicer in and......nothing.

Furious. Cannot make it work despite lots of shaking it and swearing.

I have already chopped up a cucumber to put through it.

Not sure what to do, whether to go and nuy another juicer? Hit this one some more?
I was going to suggest turnign by hand (whilst unplugged) but ?I sdee you have already fixed it.

    Interesting....

wonder what michaels will say about this.
I saw that piece and was annoyed their was no 'Have your say'. Too many products are now priced to be sold at half price or bogof every other week (eg Sanex shower gel 2.70 for a bottle). It just treats the customers as stupid and allows the retailer to make a bit of extra profit if you end up having to buy on one of the 'normal' price weeks if you have failed to stock up. Plus as PN says some things you can not use up 2 before they go off.

I wonder what the ONS does when calculating the inflation figures?
    I think....

Yes, when I was still in my 30's I probably would have scored far higher than I do today

Just beat a host of Group 1 winners by 11 lengths.

I've never used a juicer, or other kitchen equipment... but can't you just stick it in another kitchen item... e.g. a food processor if you have one? Or use a stick blender if you have one?

    Charity shops?
You can't walk into a charity shop and get what you want.... firstly, the best charity shops are near/in big cities and posh areas. Then - charity shops are only good if you're going in every day or so - and over the course of 1-2 years you'd stumble across something 'perfect'.

Round here, charity shops are only stocked with teens' battered New Look skimpy outfits and the wardrobe contents of dead people.

...i used to do homework or revise in the loo or bathroom ...
Ours was 6'x7', with a mouldy carpet, leaking loo .... and it was bl00dy cold in there. Sitting on a leaky loo, balancing books on your knee while you froze your 'rse off isn't conducive to any form of study... especially as my feet don't even touch the ground on loos.... it's tip-toe time.

Catpet? By heck, thats posh, we had no carpet!

(thank god, carpet in bathrooms or loos is yuck). But yes, not lux, was not going for lux, was going for privacy and quiet and seclusion.
