We're not allowed to give medical advice, but it could be Polysystic ovaries? What are your periods like? You definitely need to see the doctor if you're suffering and make them listen to you, if needs be see a different doctor x

I'm curious how a vitamin supplement would restore normal hormone levels
I would head back to the doctors and ask politely but firmly for blood tests to determine if you do indeed have a hormone imbalance and let them investigate the cause should a problem be found. See a different doctor if need be0 -
I would certainly push for investigations into your hormone levels, but in the meantime agnus castus is often recommended for resolving minor imbalances and cycle problems. Available in places like H&B or online.Team Pink! Baby girl due 25/5/140

Google PCOS and see if any of the other symptoms sound familiar. Excess hair is one of the symptoms. You need to go back and see another GP:j30/7/10:j

I think it's PCOS, and if you see your doctor, there's a cream they can give you, but it's not great.0

I very much doubt that it's PCOS, if you had this, you would have symptoms long before now.
Possibly an age-related thing, doctor can do a blood test to check for "peri-menopause" (i.e. the start of "the change") other than that, go back and insist on investigations into the problem, see another doctor if necessary.
There aren't any vitamins which will correct a hormone inbalance if that's what you have, and remember, some vitamins can be harmful if taken in large doses. Don't self-medicate if you don't know what's wrong, just because something is sold in Holland and Barratt, doesn't mean that it's good for you to take!
As sassyblue says, excess hair does get worse with age (am a slave to the tweezers myself!) as does intolerance to heat/humidity."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
I have polycystic ovaries and was diagnosed when I was about 16 (Im 29) and in the past couple of years I've had the same facial/chin hair problems (im a slave to my waxer!), i didn't know about the cream but will definitely ask my doctor about it so thanks for that, my doctor failed to mention it to me.Won 2012:Bobbi Brown Mascara / TRIA System

Wise words.
Don't know where you are, but there are specific hormone specialists/clinics http://www.bio-hormone-health.com/ there might be something to help/advise on here.0
