Orange contract dilemma!
We have a little bit of a dilemma and would appreciate it if anyone can point us in the right direction.
After we ordered and took out the contract, my Fiancee realised that it may not be possible to transfer her number to the new iPhone 4S plan and for me to transfer (or port in from o2) my number to the old iPhone 4 plan because she'd need to have a number associated with her old contract at all times and don't know if Orange would swap her number to the new plan and then allow me to port my number from o2 to the old plan.
It's important that she has the new iPhone 4S plan (the allowances) and number attached to it as I wouldn't use half the stuff on the new plan (text messages, minutes and photo messages, etc).
If anybody could shed some light on this please as the phone will be here tomorrow and I've already asked o2 for the PAC code .
- My Fiancee is currently on a contract with Orange and has an iPhone 4
- I'm currently on o2 PAYG and have asked them for a PAC code to port my number to Orange
- We've took out another contract for an iPhone 4S
- My Fiancee wants the iPhone 4S and I intend to have the iPhone 4

I believe she may be able to change her current tariff to the new one as long as it is of equal or higher value, but not if it is lower (unless she is half-way through the contract, if they still do this in Domestic). However if you wanted to make any changes to your tariff and therefore the handset that came with it, you can call Orange and ask if they will accept the handset back under their distance selling rules, and once received back you can redo your order for the specific phone and tariff you want.
It's not advisable to simswap with handsets, especially iPhones, because if they are lost or stolen, it is the PAIRED handset that is blacklisted (that is, the one that was sent out for that mobile number only) and if you have Orange Care, it may not cover if someone else was using the handset without the correct paired simcard in it.0 -
I called up Orange and spoke to somebody I assume was in a call centre  and he told me that it's possible for Orange to take my Fianc!e's mobile number, move it to the new contract and then port my number from o2 and add it to the old contract.
I don't feel easy doing it as I don't want any number(s) to be lost and I don't want them to be in limbo either.
Maybe it was a case of the language barrier that he didn't understand my request?0 -
Its sounds very messyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
