The one in Cardiff is still only 20% off - boo! The stuff in there is so overpriced to start with that 20% off doesn't even help really!0

I picked up a load of balloons almost identical to this:
http://www.balloonmaniacs.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=121_291&products_id=4385
They were labelled as £5.99 each and were in the 70% off section. When I got them price checked however they were 29p plus 70% off so I paid about 9p each. I have bought them for my son's spider party in Noovember. I'm not sure whether the orignal price is supposed to include them filling it with helium but we'll find somewhere else to do that then (i hope!). I bought 20 of these for £1.80!!!! They had other designs too:
I picked up some of these:
http://www.balloonmaniacs.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=121_290&products_id=3431
They were labelled as £9.99 (some £4.99???) down to £1.99. I went to check whether the 70% was off the original or new labelled price only to be told that these were also 29p and then 70% off (meaning they would also have been 9p). I picked up what they had left (8) but when I checked my receipt i was actually charged £2.49 each then 70% off....still good but not as good so I shall be taking them back tomorrow. THe problem is that the lady scanned one balloon and then times it by 8 on the till and this was obviously not the original balloon I had price checked which had come up as 29p. Be careful as this happened with some goody bags i bought too (marked as 99p down from £3.99 in the 70% off section...so would have been 30p each but actually went through at £1.99 before the discount.
Some bargains to be had though nonetheless!Make £2012 in 2012 member #88

my local clintons had a sign on that they were now remaining open
all stock full price.
i wonder if selected stores have been 'saved'.0 -
I think the new owners have definitely shuffled things around. My local store was told they were safe but now are closing. I'm sure they'll make all the best reductions whilst I'm far away at work, pah.Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Picked up some Hello Kitty hairbrushes with names on today for 99p (from £2.99) and Hello Kitty notebooks with names on same price to keep for DDs Christmas stockings. They had loads of choice of names.0

They had quite a few of them in St Enoch Centre today.savingmonkey wrote: »Picked up some Hello Kitty hairbrushes with names on today for 99p (from £2.99) and Hello Kitty notebooks with names on same price to keep for DDs Christmas stockings. They had loads of choice of names.
And Boofle name pens and notebooks, not as cheap, but half price, £1.49
I also picked up a Blue Nose Friend Keyring Charm, went through at 49p, WAS £1.99, they had a few of them and a few badges, I would hope they all went through at that price.0 -
Both the stores inside Lakeside are remaining open, despite others reports to the contrary so no bargains to be had there.Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!

Hi there
I know Im a bit early in terms of stocking up for Xmas and all that, but I was in my local Clinton cards today which is shutting down due to the administration and they had 90% off all Christmas wrapping paper.
Managed to get 20 rolls (ranging from 2-8m long) for £6.
Will last me for ages and not bad considering usually I spend about £6 for 2 rolls!Saving for our next step up the property ladder0 -
is there a new list of stores that are closing down? thanks:beer: Happy Bargain Hunting!! :beer:0
