Bargains at Clintons and Birthdays

I just noticed that my local Clintons has now got 20% off signs up - does this mean they are closing? I asked them a few weeks ago and they said they weren't marked for closure but I guess the buyout may have changed that?

No bargains...:( the 20% signs have disappeared and staff confirmed that the store is no longer closing down.....the plastic plates that had been reduced from £5 to 50p were back to £5...hope that helps....

I went to my local Birthdays in Northampton today - they had the small Christmas Yankee candles for 20p each, they are like tea lights and smell amazing. I bought 5. I also got 2 gift bags for 30p each and a father's day card that had 20% off....

Popping back tomorrow as didn't have much time to look properly today.

Oooh you lucky thing! Sounds like you have the TARTS, these don't have wickes, they go in a burner, and once heated will turn to liquid. You can crumble them and use just part of one. They are very strong and very lovely!! 20p in a bargain, I got some recently on half price for 60p each and got a burner from a charity shop which fits a whole one for £2.63

Anyone got any good Clintons bargains lately?

Our local is still 20% off everything, but some tatty teddies and boffle (might have spelt that wrong) are 50% off. They've also got out their seasonal bits, some 50% off Christmas cards and halloween gear. Can't believe the original prices of some of the things mind you, like £6 for a gift box, fairly small, but down by 75% off they are maybe worth looking at. Nothing to tempt me though, left empty handed. Was hoping for a better discount on the candles but as they were half price recently, 20% isn't very tempting. As my sisters OH put it 'it's just wax and a wick'......:eek::eek:
