PROPERTY Week have revealed a list of 345 Clinton Cards and Birthdays stores deemed ‘non-core’, which is expected to form the basis of the stores to be closed next week.
The list includes the Clinton card shop at Lakeside.
This list, seen by Property Week, includes some of the retailer’s most high profile shops.
Administrators at Zolfo Cooper announced last night that they would be closing 350 stores starting next week after deeming the retailer’s portfolio of 784 stores “an untenable retail estate”.
Clintons at Lakeside joins a list that includes Braehead, Lakeside, Castle Court in Belfast, the Whitgift Centre in Croydon, The Plaza on Oxford Street, West Quay in Southampton, The Meadows in Chelmsford, Princes Street in Edinburgh and Commercial Street in Leeds.
Zolfo Cooper declined to comment on the list of stores. Areas particularly affected on the list include Scotland, the South East and East of England and Northern Ireland. Some cities including Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Glasgow have four stores on the list.
The administrators are understood to have been visiting landlords yesterday and today to discuss the portfolio and how the individual stores are trading, and how the business will operate going forwards.Married Hubby 21/03/12...First Bubba due 13/01/13

My local Clintons was open as normal last Thursday, when I went past on Saturday it had closed and was being emptied of stock so there was no closing down sale at that one.0
