Maureen43, do you really NEED a credit card? If your income is as low as you say, are you not worried you might find yourself relying on this credit card? And getting into a right old guddle. Just trying to maintain the spirit of MSE!0

Barclaycard and Capital One might be worth a try - if you apply for one card that you're not eligible for they'll often offer you a different card with a lower limit and higher rate.
And, you know, they can only go on what information you tell them about your income... just saying.0
