read Halifax turning most claims down

Where did you read that? For most of the last year they have been auto paying out. It is only recently that they have started investigating cases more thoroughly and rejecting cases they feel are not wrong.

I rang Halifax a few weeks ago as i owe around 500 on a Halifax cc and around 300 on an aqua rbs one. Soon as i rang they started asking me if i was ringing to complain about mis-selling off PPI (I hadn't i had rung to sort payment plans out) i then said i never knew there was PPI on these cards and was put threw to the PPI Complaints line i had a 10 min convo with someone and was told my complaints for both cards had been accepted and i received a confirmation letter for each card, and id hear something in next 8 weeks. I rang the last week and was told my rbs claim had been rejected (i have yet to have letter re this and will take further) but the Halifax one was still being investigated! Tonight someone from Halifax has just rung asking me for more details. My compliant was i didn't ask for PPI, Never signed anything for it, Never wanted it and didn't need it! He just wanted details on why i didn't need it so i explained at the time i was in a job with generous benefits, redundancy policy, death illness covers etc and i had also 2000 in savings which would had paid the card off as the limit was only 900. He thanked me and said i should hear from them soon! Is this similar to what has happened with your complaint? Thanks

Sorry one more question? Will i have to prove this? As i no longer work for the company and havent for almost 4 years and im not very good at keeping paperwork so i dont have contracts or old cc statements etc, Is it likely they will ask me to prove this? What will happen if i cant? Thanks

Hi, what was your reason for mis-selling? read Halifax turning most claims down, well done by the way:-)

Everyone has their own reasons on why they felt they were missold PPI. and i have my own which not to be rude i wish not to disclose in an open forum. but should you want to know why and reasons. then do PM me.

but if you do feel you have been missold PPI, (as i am sure Dunstonh will state) you stating your weren't aware of this or they forced PPI on to you isn't in it self significant enough to warrent them to uphold your complaint you will need to provide evidence of this (as i did, with credit card statements) ETC

    good Luck with your claim

The problem with not being open about your complaint is that it severely restricts the value of advice you may receive. Thanks for telling us your complaint was upheld, hopefully it will inspire others to do the same.
It's virtually impossible to be personally identified by revealing your complaint reasons on here and it can also help others who prefer to only lurk and have similar circumstances.
Having said all that, you're just one of many hundreds who have posted here, so if you prefer not to discuss your success then so be it;)

When you state prove this do you mean paperwork ETC? if so NO. just tell them which company you were employed for what benefits your received from your employer at that time which meant you did not require or wanted the PPI as this was covered by your employer. and let them investigate it ( i believe in my case they had just asked my employer (the employer i was with) and just like you i am not in the employment when this PPI was sold and haven't been for 5 years or so.

but you will need to provide you were missold PPI wheather it be from Statements (like me). and also prove via statements regarding your were covered by the savings you mention.

I totally understand your Point on this, but i happy to discuss the reasoning and evidence i provided for my claim. but i feel each complaint should have valid individual reason for the misselling and not because it had worked for someone else and did not work for me concept.

while i also understand not everyone will do this i also know and feel individuals will and i do not want subconciously to feel i reasons that worked for me hadn't worked for someone else. should they want to use the reasons i used for my complaint.
