Halifax PPI

Hello All,

Like the everyone else i am finally managing to sort the PPI form after evenyuially finding a 4 statements in which show i payed a "repayment cover" when i took a credit card out in 2002 with the halifax. my questions are
  • will i need all the statements?
  • will i need the T&C's? as per the template letter on the MSE guide line
  • also i read they only go back 6 years for CC's but i have found a statement (of teh 4 mentioned above) which showed i still payed this repayment cover.
as i am totally new to this if anyone could give me indepth descriptive account of how to go about this i would really appreciate it.

just to note due to this repayment cover on 2 occasions it made me go over my credit limit and meant i had to pay chagres and extra's even was threaten with bailiffs. (this was back in 2005 and 2007)

also i am finally paying this off even though its only the minimum. was wondering if that will also help with my claim?

Ring halifax, just google the number for PPI complaints (i think it's 08456014034), all you need is the credit card number and tell them why it was mis-sold. it's as easy as that. they'll send you confirmation out that they are dealing with the complaint.

It took me five weeks after making only one phone call to halifax to receive a cheque in the post.

They will go back for as long as the information can be proven. It may be 6 years or may be 10 or more.

You dont need it. Just put your complaint in. Give your reasons. Supply copies of evidence where applicable and thats it. Really simple. You dont need agreements etc. That is just an internet myth.

  • Hi All,

Just wanted to update everyone on my claim. after 5 weeks from my initial complaint to Halifax regarding my Misselling PPI on CC.

I overjoyed :j to let everyone know my claim has been upheld and payment of missold PPI, plus interest applied to account because of Missold PPI and 8% Interest have been refunded.

I am due to receive a cheaque within 28 days. :T

I want to thank everyone who replied to my post, especially to Dunstonh and frenchy28.

To everyone who believes they were missold PPI. if you truely believe you have been missold and you can provide one bit of evidence (in my case 4 random dated credit card statements) then please do claim. all they can say is no and thats it.

To all those people thinking of using PPI Claim Companys Don't it is as simple as form which takes no longer than 20 mins of your time (people who say they don't have time, everyones takes 20 mins to have lunch, use your wrinting hand to fill the form and eat the sandwich with the other) and send it out and that way you don't give 30% claim payment (should your claim be upheld) to this people who do the same thing as you could of done in 20mins

and one more thank you to this Website which is the absolutely the greatest website in the world for the general public.

Martin I love this website :D
