S3 delays - what can we do?

Hi all,

Not sure how many are affected, but I pre-ordered the samsung galaxy s3 to be delivered tomorrow. Due to production delays, there is a current delay of 2-4 weeks (that's what vodafone have said).

In the meantime, I'm now paying for a new contract in-line with the cost of the phone. Do I have any rights in relation to the delay? I suspect vodafone have worded it appropriately to avoid this, but just wanted to check.

Thanks

    Are you upgrading?

If so, I'd expect vodaphone would let you remain on your old tariff until you're in possession of the new handset...
  • Samsung really messed up on this one. Good luck - hope it works out for the best!!

If its a new connection you wont get your sim, so there wont be a connection. If upgrade, you should be asking them to delay the upgrade date on their system. I imagine that they will likely do this automatically anyway.

I upgraded to an S3 last Friday - picked the blue one and was told it would be here by the end of this week.

Phoned tonight to be told that I shouldn't have been told that and the blue one will be about 30 days!!!!!! Even the white one is 10-15 days...

I pre-ordered in the 3 store for pickup tomorrow (or today technically), and got a phone call saying there would be a shortage of the pebble blue, meaning either an extra 2 week wait but I could get a white one and they're giving a free case with it to compensate for the inconvenience. Took the latter option.

    Hi jonas123,

As Idiophreak has mentioned, if it's been ordered as part of an upgrade then we can keep you on your old plan until you receive the device. If it's a new connection then you will not be charged until you receive the SIM and it's active.

If you would like to know more information about the orders of the Samsung Galaxy S3, take a look here.

    Kind regards,
