Ryanair: flight rescheduled to 6:50 AM

Hi,

My Ryanair Flight to Bremen, which was due to leave at 11:30 from Manchester on Saturday, June 9th, has been rescheduled to 6:50 AM on the same day. I live in Newcastle, and there is no way I can get to Manchester airport so early. I have already booked non-refundable train tickets.

Ryanair informed me on Sunday, June 27, i.e. 13 days prior to departure.

There is an alternative flight that would get me to my destination in time, with KLM via Amsterdam, departing at 09:05, but costing (now) £500.

It is essential that I get to Bremen by Saturday afternoon. There are no suitably late flights on Friday. Were I to accept the new departure time, my only option would be to stay in Manchester overnight, incurring further costs.

As Ryanair has not indicated "extraordinary circumstances", I cannot imagine that a refund of the original fare is my only option. I have not yet reacted to the rescheduling notification, and would be very grateful for some advice. Thanks!

Do the flights have the same flight number? or has this changed?

It is unlikely Ryanair will sort any other alternative in the near future.
So decide if you are going to book the KLM flight or the hotel in MAN the night before.

Your flight hasn't been cancelled, just moved earlier.

You could approach them for a contribution towards the costs, or ask them about alternative flight options from other locations.

Have you spoken to them about your options?

You could ask to be re-routed from Manchester to Edinburgh, but then you would face further costs.

BTW, my flight times were changed THREE times by Ryanair 2 years ago. Of course, they offer no compensation, however if you were to turn up one minute late/get held up in a massive security queue they would demand you buy a new ticket.

Thanks for the replies so far. Unfortunately, there are no Ryanair flights from Edinburgh to my destination on Saturday.

I have not yet contacted Ryanair, wanting to make sure I did not make a mistake due to not knowing what my rigths are. I will call them, asking for

    a) alternative travel arrangements on the same day that can get me to my destination in time, or failing that,
    b) reimbursement of expenses incurred if I accept the rescheduled flight, or failing that,
    c) compensation under EU261.

I'll keep you updated, but if you have any further advice, please let me know.

Here's my guess of the answers

    a) Take the 6.50am flight or a refund
    b) No, the flight change is not significant
    c) No, your flight has not been cancelled nor delayed.

It has. It's irrelevant that the original flight number has been reused for a different flight.
