How do you fit the middle box to this, I guess there is no box because it's all illegal anyway.
Anyways, I'm looking to replace my exhaust from the downpipe... backwards.
Do Bosch do exhausts? because I want a good quality one that will last as long as factory fit....like the one which has now failed 2003 car 80,000miles that's not bad, but if I buy a cheapo it won't last 3 years.
One looks like a cat, but with very little in it, to get the high flow, and the very cheap price, the other is a straight through front pipe, so no silencer, and a short pipe to replace the cat, which it looks like you weld to your existing manifold after chopping the cat off. As to exhausts, I would have said try oe, but corsa exhausts are dearer than my zafira from vauxhall. Buypartsby have been good for aftermarket ones before though.0 -
He sells them here buy it now for £169, assuming the cat works & passes MOT emmisions that's an icredible price for stainless & cat IMHO.

A standard cat is 400 cells, so there is a cost saving there. Much thinner coating, and even a different material can reduce costs dramatically as well.0

There's an RfR for it, but the inspection method in column 2 only tells the tester to check for it if the car needs a full CAT test.
As they're adding more and more to the Manual it's starting to read less like a testing guide and more like a an Act of Parliament. There are a few places now where the meaning depends on exactly how you read a sentence (eats shoots and leaves style) but I guess that's inevitable as they try to specify everything objectively. All part of sidelining testers' knowledge and experience to open the role up to minimally trained monkeys0 -
does you car have a post cat lambda sensor?
and what are you expecting with it?
peformance?
MPG gains?
better low end torque?
better hight end torque?
the two you listed will give better low end torque couple with slight ,high end performance and about the same if not lower MPG.
if your car doesnt have a post cat only a down stream lambda (pre cat sensor) you can pretty much develop your own system.
with a 4 into one header manifold, stainless down pipe, into a universal stainless 200 cell cat under chassis rather than apart of the down pipe setup lambder will then go in the down pipe or in the manifolds long pipe rather right on the cats entrance, this setup will give you better MPG performance and torque ranges, do away with the center muffler and have a straight through to a back box.0 -
Mine has a pre & post lambda sensor.
I was just dreaming and thinking that shiny downpipe was cheap.
I just bought a standard middle pipe with a muffler box, I didn't know they sold centre pipes without muffler boxes off the shelf, do they? They should offer these off the shelf, I would ahve bought one if they were.. I wouldn't want the expense of having one made up.0 -

But it would give you a headache as well.0 -
no the stainless kits have the muffler with nout in them or very minimal sound deadning wool.
a straight through would have to be made, in your stainless option.
wich isnt that expensive plus the mannicat system fitting if you wanted a perfect fitment to the both.
theres not a option of muffler/no muffler off the shelf replacement part.0
