Neff oven door - inner glass

The inner glass on my Neff oven door fell out last night (Model B1120W1GB/01). I haven't got the door apart yet to look closely (still one screw refusing to come out) but it doesn't appear to have any fixings for this glass. Can anyone tell me how it is secured so I can try and get it fixed back in place.
I also read here:

that I shouldn't use the oven without it. Can anyone explain why?

I used this:- http://www.screwfix.com/p/geocel-trade-mate-plumba-flue-silicone-black-310ml/66373
Been good for the past 6 months. Make sure that you clean the mating surfaces thoroughly first0 -
Thanks folks. I've got the oven door apart now. It's difficult to tell if it's been held in before by a bead of adhesive similar to the one recommended above, or if what's there is is a seal that's been bonded to both surfaces. Can anyone say one way or another?
The residue that's remaining initially looked like a seal but on closer examination I can see sort of patterns in areas as if it's been an adhesive that's been squashed down, but might just be a seal that's deformed over the years with heat and pressure.0 -
Mine is a Zanussi oven. Once I had dismantled the door the "seal" appeared to be a plastic gasket-type affair which had unstuck itself from the glass. This was no longer sticky in any way so I took the pragmatic approach and used the high temperature silicone sealant that I mentioned in my previous post. Glass is rock-solid and has been for the past six months or so. Alternative for me was to buy a new inner door panel with glass at around £100.0

Sounds exactly like mine. It's back together now and seems secure - thanks again.0
