Bosch oven inner glass broken, do I need to replace it?

I hope someone doesn't mind helping me with this. The inner glass panel on our Bosch electric oven HBN730550B/03 broke last night. We looked online for a replacement part last night and it's about £150. As you can imagine, we could do without that! But we didn't know if it was for the pyrolytic cleaning purpose or is essential to the oven. Thank you in advance
