Went on comparison websites last week- the quote to insure me and my mum on a 1.4 Mini one auto was £294 a month.

Ring a car insurers direct?? £189 a month.

What a con they are!

    i wouldnt offer you insurance with your driving record
    last time it was a written off mini on a slight corner wasnt it?

    you also said i seem to remember that buying second hand cars was for peasants and so last century

    whats happened have you had to sack a servant or something

    Sweetheart, if your going to try and get up my nose- at least do your research.

    With most comparison sites being owned by insurance companies..... Its no real surprise :(

    Did you inform them that you have written 2 cars off in the last 8 months and had your licence suspended for 3?
    The roads would be a lot safer if you used the bus instead.

    £189, a bargain by my book.

    As if somebody comes on to a forum and boast about the staggering value £189 A MONTH is for car insurance!!

    For comparison, that price is slightly more than I was paying when I was 24 and driving a Japanese import twin-turbo Subaru and lived in central Liverpool.
