£189, a bargain by my book.

As if somebody comes on to a forum and boast about the staggering value £189 A MONTH is for car insurance!!

    Regards,
    Andy

Mmmm, this sporty little number, £67 a YEAR fully comp with 0 no-claims (but no accidents / claims) and the RK's test passed 3 1/2 years ago. Now THAT'S an insurance bargain

Yep, third belt-drive in our fleet :) All are a little ratty, but solid, and give consistent 28p per mile (all included) motoring at current fuel prices, which I challenge anyone to beat with a modern ;)

9p a mile (includes purchase price and weigh in money), although it was a 1997 Astra and not really that "modern" I suppose.;)
That was about 35 MPG, new 1994 Audi 80's returning approx 40mpg so it should get a bit cheaper this year, fingers crossed.:D

It would be nice to go even older though, something with a bit of character (and diesel).

    £189 a month...holy crap!

I was reading this thread as if the £189 was for the year until someone pointed it out

    It works both ways.

If you want to waste 10 minutes of your life filling it all out again on Direct Line, only to be told they won't insure you, or the price is astronomical, be my guest!

That is why "insurance brokers" live in large converted farmhouses in Surrey and drive large 4x4s.
