Most places don't check the names of the tickets. What venue is it at? I've never been asked for ID for tickets, what if one of you arrived at a different time?

    I shouldn't worry about it

If its does not say on them that you will need id, how will you know to take it to the gig. I never carry any id because i dont have to in the UK.

It states on Seatwave that the seller must accompany the buyer to the venue to ensure entry.

Hi I'm going to the Wolverhampton Blur gig.
Yes names will be on the tickets but they say the ticket purchaser has to be there with the card they were booked on and photo ID too!

I honestly can't see how they will staff these extra checks on the door - time consuming - when I checked with the venue they advised me to allow an extra hour for queuing due to the ID checks.

I'm not really happy going to a gig with my bank card and passport security wise!

If you had a trusted friend to sell your ticket to you would have to let them take your card/ID? They are selling Blur tickets on eBay but say the seller will go in with you.

Is there no way you can swap your shift with someone or offer to do say 2 shifts for them? Seems a shame for you to miss the gig?

I am having a battle with Seatwave, too  but on the subject of 'name on tickets' ... it states on their help section:

"Why is the name on the e-tickets different to mine?

When e-tickets are bought, the name of the original purchaser is printed on the tickets. When they sell these on, the tickets are not re-issued but forwarded in their original state. This will not restrict you from entering the event."

Does anyone know if it also says on the site that the named person on the ticket has to attend??

I am even more panic stricken now! :(

It's the Cirque du Soleil Michael Jackson thing at the O2 in London in October. I bought the tickets for my daughter and her husband - they were listed as Fast E-tickets - the definition of which was "immediately available and ready to download electronically". I paid a vastly inflated price for them - £267 for two x £68 tickets, and am now told they are being sold on through a third party who hasn't even had them from Ticketmaster yet! I think the whole thing is a huge con and there should be a law to stop this sort of false advertising ... or maybe there is? I was in touch with Seatwave again yesterday regarding the name on the ticket issue, and they have simply replied "do not worry, the card is not needed". Useless.

Hi Tallulah - can you please tell me where it states this on the Seatwave site? All I can find is something that says it doesn't matter if the name on the tickets isn't yours, and I can't get a straight answer from them. :( Thanks.
