Are there any netwoks that can cap your usage?

i want to buy 2 phones for my kids & do not want them exceeding their plan usage (100MB, 500text, etc)

Are there any firms that lock phones after usage band is met, i basically do not want to receive a massive bill each month.

T-Mobile do U-Fix tariffs. Basically anything over and above the allowances, is bought by topping up.
They're always doing local store offers - especially over the kids school holidays - when they're most likely to see them!
Check your local store next week while the kids are off school.
Alternatively, if you want to buy the phones out-right - sim free - consider someone like giffgaff - they're pay as you go and run on the O2 network. You can either choose pure pay as you go or buy a monthly "goodybag". Currently a £10 goodybag gets you 250 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data. Calls between giffgaff numbers are free too. Knowing kids - it'll be the unlimited texts that you'll need!
You've probably got quite a few options, but I think the best idea (if you can afford it) would be to buy the phones and then use giffgaff.

    All networks do PAYG.

    You had all options suggested.

You've got either Tesco Capped Monthly Bill, T-Mobile YouFix or any PAYG service -as they are prepaid so stop working when credit expires.

What usage are you looking at, and what possible handsets are you considering, or alternatively, what capped budget is required?

U-fix is just what you need. if you get the tariff with free unlimited texts but your kids use all their minuted chatting to friends they can't run up a bill as they'll need to top up. BUT it wins hands down over pure PAYG because they'll always have their free texts to contract you in an emergency, which is important as well as knowing they can't bankrupt you!

Unlimited texts on PAYG are available at giffgaff for £10. Also unlimited calls to giffgaff and unlimited internet.
