I have two JVC HD 10s and both have already been to be repaird. They have light and very careful use. When they came back they had new firmware and features that really enhanced my love for the cams. I will see if JVC will revisit the repair as they are both doing exactly what they did, "Lenscap"! I'll report!

I got my JVC camcorder fixed in this way. While they fixed the original fault, it came back with a new fault that it never had before - tape playback keeps jumping: plays okay for 5 secs and then the picture jumps/freezes and the sound jitters, then plays okay for another few secs and repeats. Makes it pretty much unusable. Don't fancy my chances in trying to prove that this is a new fault caused by them though.Ah! Good old trusty beer... I hope you never change.0

I have a a JVC GZ-MC500EK which has this fault; it is not listed on the JVC website. I wrote to JVC and they responded by saying it does not have this fault and therefore they will not repair the camcorder.
I wonder if there are other owners of this model which has this fault who have been palmed off by JVC?0 -
We brought our camcorder (JVC GR-D53AG) in December 2004 in Florida. Not used it for years, tried it out yesterday and it has the lens cap/ CCD error. Found this thread, didn't hold out much hope, but called JVC anyway. They're collecting next Tuesday for a FOC repair! :T All they asked for was model no, serial no and where you purchased it - didn't ask for a receipt (even though by some miracle I had actually found it).
All I can say is I'm amazed (and very very pleased!) with JVCs customer service, specially on a (albeit not used much) six year old unit. :j Also thanks to the other posters on here for the heads up!0 -
Called JVC ( ph: 02082087654) to ask about repairs to my camcorder as outlined in this forum. I spoke with the tech (Gary) who knew exactly what I was talking about and has arranged for the free repair of the camera out of warranty. Well done JVC for no hassel.:j0
