Cheap way of calling non-geo numbers

o2 charge for '03' numbers?? Why?? Surely it's time to dump them. I was going to mention weq4u yesterday but got called away from the PC. It's a superb app in the sense that it lets you suspend the call whilst queuing (hence the name) so even if 02 (outrageously) charge for 03 numbers the hit will be very much lessened with weq4u.0

Just to let you know that you can calm down, you don't need to be outraged, or tell people to dump a phone company. A quick google reveals this:
http://www.o2.co.uk/support/generalhelp/howdoi/specialnumbers03 Numbers
Ofcom has introduced 03 numbers as an alternative to chargeable 08 numbers e.g 0870.
Calls to 03 numbers will cost the same as other standard fixed line numbers (starting 01 or 02), and are included as part of any inclusive or free minutes allowances on O2 tariffs.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

They are charged the same as 01/02 geographical numbers, prices vary depending on what o2 PAYG tariff you are on they could be charged as much as 35p a minute. They are included in inclusive minute bolt ons.

How do they know the saving ? They dont know if your calling from inclusive minutes,or if not, what your network charges to call the 03 access numbers they point at the target numbers.Nor do they know what your network would have charged you to call number.
A couple of networks not enough charge the same to call 0844/0845/0870 as they do 01/02/03 so no saving on them.
But of course the great thing about it is it saves you the waiting time as well, which can be significant.0
