Thanks Dusty - 15 minutes is about right for my lovely big new kitchen floor, even if I have to hand and knees scrub it. When OH goes back to work I am going to buy a new electric mop like I had at the old house - that was a brilliant but unreliable toy.

ETA This may be because I refuse to let anyone dump stuff on my kitchen floor so it is fairly clear to start with.

Anyone seen my purse? Ican't find it and it's been missing since Friday although I didn't realise it then. I'm going to give the dog a quick walk then go and pick the kids up from swimming. Don't think I'll be going to Beavers - it's not the group I run, it's my other one - as if I can't find my purse I'm going to have to start cancelling all my cards.

Mrs MP - lots of improving vibes for your niece.

Empty it, and put the plug in. Tip in a good glug of cheap bleach, and then warmish water to fill it as high as you can. Use the washing brush to scrub the sticking out bits, and then leave it to soak for as long as you can be bothered, 30 minutes or so. Let it drain and then scrub any last stains from the plug hole itself. Rinse and admire your shiney sink.

Would like to be in again this week, please. Saturday was madly busy with DS2's birthday and I woke up yesterday feeling rough, so I concentrated on dailies, laundry and food shopping.
Still decluttering here - do you think Estate Agents are used to seeing clutter and won't mind doing a valuation anyway?!!

I'm sure they'll cope! We had a valuation once and they managed fine - although I don't know what they thought about the house. You'll have to declutter in the end, so you could just keep plodding on.

Healing vibes to G&B's DD, Mrs MP niece and Mrs X. Worrying times. :(

I still have a job for September (long and complicated story - offer came Friday teatime), although I'll have to get used to teaching something other than my subject and I won't know for a bit what it will be. I had a lovely back-up plan, but turning the job down would have meant risking the redundancy payment, which plan B relied on. Back to the drawing board, then.

More laundry today and I'll play in the kitchen for a bit while I make tea for me and the DSs - DH is out bowling.

Mine gets done like this but with loads of bleach and very hot water... I use it to wipe units and surfaces then mop the floor empty the sink and rinse with plain water..

    Not bad for me.

Pigpen, makes sense to me but I am running out of bleach, and I haven't put the hot water on so it has to be lukewarm. Being clean is financially challenging at the moment.

And no suggesting star drops anyone, it smells and it makes me itch

I don't use bleach, so I give everything a good scrub, then wipe it down with diluted vinegar. That usually works. Having said that, I've done vast amounts of laundry including cushions which are being finished, so haven't exactly been financially responsible...

    Hi All

Not much flying done today, lots of paid stuff though. Did sneak out on 'lunch break' and got some milk and other bits, decluttered a few quid!

Got dd some trainers, was a guess at size but she is desperate and they were only £5 luckily they are a good fit...also got her a pack of the next size socks.

Just gonna have a quick whizz around picking up "stuff" tonight. Into the office early tomorrow so need to shower and wash hair tonight, and sort packup.

New blind slats delivered today, they were really easy to fit, and look so much better! No frayed edges, and they actually look white. I got blackout ones so they are not particularly pretty, but they do the trick nicely!

Just need to put the black and green bins out for morning, and that's about it!

ETA washed kitchen window, did half a meal plan, put bins out, put 5 away, swiped counters, hair washed, and stuff picked up x
