Plasma TV sent for repair, not carried out even though they said they did

Balance is what we should have, however what we do have is a situation where you can be delayed and restricted in actions by internal policy. What can the customer do in those circumstances? Go through the long process of getting advice and then threatening with a CCJ maybe?
Depending on how strong a person you are will directly effect what you get.
You cant threaten them with a CCJ. You can't issue a CCJ and a CCJ would only be issued if you won the case and they failed to act upon that judgement (often 30 days).
What you can threaten them with is small claims process. But that doesnt mean you'll get the result you want. A court can indeed issue a judgement for another remedy (ie repair), or again reduce the reimbursement given to reflect use you have had of the goods as it sees fit.
You're not being delayed or restricted by an internal policy. As of yet, they are complying with a) their own policy and b) the law.
Perhaps you should have a look at this page:

As I said previously.....courts take a very dim view of people who start legal proceedings the minute something goes wrong. They can indeed award costs against you if they feel you have been unreasonable by issuing a claim prematurely. And personally, I would rather be safe than sorry. Likewise, I wouldn't want to give anyone advice which may be detrimental to them. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Hi Sevenholio,
Thanks for taking the time to get in contact with us. I am sorry to read that you have had an issue with getting your TV repaired to a suitable standard.
The policy that you have may have a 7 - 10 - 21 - 28 - 48 day repair policy depending on which agreement you took out.
The time frame that CoolHotCold had mentioned to you comes into play when the item has been returned to you. If you find a fault with the product within 7 days of getting your repaired item back the repair time will continue from the day you are on.
If there is no notification of any fault within the first 7 days the repair will be classed as completed and the job will then be closed down as a 'success'.
If you would like to email me at the address that is in my Bio I will pick it up and see what can be done to getting this resolved.
Please include in your email your full address inc. postcode and your agreement number.
If there is anything else I can help with please let me know.
Kind Regards,
Paul

For me, the policy is irrelevant at this point. Its less than 6 months old, been confirmed as a manufacturing defect, which was then not repaired and returned to me in a disgusting condition. Wether I had an extra policy or not, this comes under the TV being below satisfactory quality.
Thanks for contacting me regarding this, I will email you shortly.0 -
TV has come back from the 2nd repair.
Even before powering up the new bezel, which was replaced, is showing signs of peeling/cracking away form the display. Lesson here is dont ever expect a quality repair from the dixons retail group I suppose.
Awesome service, just been passed around the phone merry go round aswell trying to get my money back.
Oh yeah, still not clean, cup stain still on the back.0
