OS daily Sunday 27th May

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 27th May 2012 . This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all, well cramp is a bit better but still left achy feet so our trip to the seaside will be Granny sitting in the chair doling out grub to any spare grandchild and doing very little rushing around.Beautiful day today and I just checked the tide tables and it was high tide at 4.44.a.m. so by the time I've done a picnic and made a flask and loaded the car with said food and grandchildren there will be enough beach to sit on at least .we usually go to Westgate as its got a nice flat beach and hopefully doesn't get too crowded9No amusements which make all the difference). The car will be packed with a kits a bat ,ball and football to keep the boys happy and a couple of chairs for the grown-ups and lots of towels for the kids to sit on.We also have a small pop-up tent the boys can sit in the shade to eat their food and a big umbrella for me to perch under as I'm very fair skinned so I have to sit in the shade if I can.So thats my day all planned out.I also take a crossword and my kindle for the odd moment of peace (doesn't happen often, but when the tribe go off paddling ) The whole day out costs very little as I only live around half an hour from the coast so we can get there easily. The sea is free to paddle in and we take our own grub.A perfect Sunday for us all.
Hope evey one else has a good day and gets out to enjoy the sunshine whilst we have it <hugs> if your feeling a bit down or blue even if you only go for a short walk in the sun it does lift your spirits sometimes
Take care all

Good Morning JackieO & all to follow.

Have a great day at the beach Jackie.

Cold is on its way out :j at last. Had a nice day yesterday although not a lot got done. Plan to do more today and make time to enjoy the sunshine. Need to pop into town sometime to drop off DD's application for a job she saw advertised, fingers crossed for her.

Barbecue again for dinner, OH will probably to one of his now legendary fry ups for lunch.

Nothing much else to report, didn't see the Eurovision last night but have seen that we came 2nd from last :rotfl: poor Englebert.

Oh well, best get on have a great day all.x

    Morning all

JackieO - have a nice day at the beach

I'm off to see the Olympic Torch shortly :j it's going past my workplace at 9.15 so me and a colleague are heading there. Quite excited.

I'm hopefully seeing my brother today too :D first time since Dec when he went travelling. He is working down this way so I'll either cook him tea or we can expense a meal!

I had a lovely night out with the uni girls last night. Got quite merry, but no hangover today. Left at 10pm as one of the other girls was leaving then and offered me a lift which would save me the £5 train followed by £8 taxi ride less than 2 hours later!

OS wise - WM on and then I have absolutely nothing left in the house to wash! :rotfl: I'm washing a sleeping bag now, plus ydays clothes! Need to use up whatever salad/veg is lurking as I'm away with work Tues til Fri. Need to hoover and put away giant laundry mountain!

    Have a fab day all

    Morning everyone,

JackieO have a lovely day at the beach, I am really jealous but we are off to Devon next saturday so not long to wait.

Hugs to all in need especially Molly and LW.

Marie don't give up on Kerry, I have heard of dogs returning after months away.

Off to church soon and then another day trying to sort out the garden. It is getting really overgrown.

Tea tonight is probably HM burgers on the barbecue.

    Morning :hello:

mucky_moo download THIS. My daughter has it and I'll probably download it too, I prefer it to MS Office.

I was hoping for a cooler day today but the sun is blazing already.

I've cleaned the chickens out. I'm going to do one load of washing, sweep the kitchen floor and water the greenhouses then have the rest of the day off :D

  • Good morning all,
Very warm here already. Have walked the dog and been to the allotment to see if there is anything we can do over there today. I think we need to sow some more carrots and that is about it. We spent best part of the day over there yesterday so it is looking pretty tidy at the moment. It doesn't take too long before the weeds come through again.
Washing is out on the line and another in the wm. Need to get some cakes baked but i will wait until the oven goes a bit later.
JackieO, i hope you have a lovely day at the beach.
Not much else going on here today. I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Hi there all, gorgeous day here so sunny walk for me and Jack. We're going to take him up to the forest later to the lake so he can have a swim- he loves that. Wish we lived close to a beach but everywhere from here is along drive and it's too hot for that. Hope you have a good time JackieO. It's odd that this weather makes us want to wash everything, I'm going to hunt round for bits in a mo!!!!!!
Have a good day all and hugs to all in need, hope LW is enjoying her holiday.:)

    Morning everyone,
Beautiful morning here again, WM on again decided to wash some winter coats and some blankets, so they are out swaying in the breeze. Had a late breakfast of Bacon and scrambled eggs. So will have HM burgers and salad later for tea.
Have a couple of more things to put on ebay, then going to sit in the garden for a couple of hours and enjoy the sun, flowers and birds.

    Have a good day:)
