Really? Who is offering that deal?

Homer_j is a Mortgage Advisor - it would be mad for him to tell us as it would potentially cost him business? Am i right Homer_J?

I'm sure some research will reveal the answer.

Well, that will do for me. I’ve been looking for a new mortgage for quite a while and this ticks all the boxes for me. With no fees and no tie-in, I can’t see how I can lose. If the interest rate goes up, I can always jump ship and it’s cost me nothing. I applied online this afternoon.

The ING online application process is very slick and only took around 20 mins to enter all the information. Credit checks and valuation are done and the mortgage has been offered in principal. All I have to do is post in my latest payslip - it's even a freepost adr :)

My ING mortgage application seems to be progressing very smoothly, with no problems. Two weeks in - valuation done, income check done, redemption figure received from current lender, mortgage deed signed, offer made. So far, I'm impressed...

seriously, I have nothing to lose by revealing it and I have never done business with anybody through the site - this is my time where I can share my knowledge and experience with others.

The lender has now pulled that deal and replaced it with a 6.19% rate so guess the popularity of it has caught on already. The product was with the coventry and the 6.19 is now there. Still not a bad deal if I do say so myself.

    Hi

I've also just applied for the ING mortgage. Process on line has been excellent so far. I like the way you can log on to see what stage your mortgage application is up to. Also, the helpline staff have been great, faultless at the moment.

The 'no fees' and 'no tie-in' was what appealed to me most. If they increase their rate dramatically, then i shall just look elsewhere for a better deal ;)

Also, if the BOE reduce the base rate later in the year (here's hoping!), I will look at fixing on a lower rate with another lender. Can't lose really

Seeing as how ING were so cynical with savers offering:
One great rate for all, followed by ...
One consistent rate for all, followed by ...
Several different rates for some but not all!

it's difficult not to be cynical about their mortgage offerings but if they want to buy market share - why not fill yer boots!
After all you can move on at the end of the deal if they don't continue to offer the goods.

Can I just check with those who have re-mortgaged with ING. They are asking for certified copies of passport for proof of identity. Solicitors/Banks etc charge a fee for this service. Can't I just send the originals by recorded delivery? This would be a lot cheaper and quicker
  • fine as long as they are willing to return them in a similar fashion I guess. not had any request for ID here other than payslip and usual details which were completed online. Are you in your own house and on the electral role. Most anti ML searches can now be done using name address and some bank details without having to go the whole hog and ask for certified copies. Guessing that maybe you arent on electoral role or maybe have recently moved or something?

If it causes you a problem you can always ask them for other ways to prove your identity, they shouldnt refuse you if you cant prove with a passport, driving license etc.
