Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 24th May 2012 . This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hi Chums gorgeous day already and I'm up with the larks this morning .I am off to London for a 'blue badge walk' from Tower Hill called 'Dickens and the Thames' which should be interesting.I love these walks that our History Tutor organises, so interesting, and we have had the guide Chris before and he's very good.I am also meeting up with a friend of mine who is coming along and we will have a light lunch afterward and maybe a wander around whilst we are up there.Just going to have my shower and breakfast then I'm off as I have to catch the the 8.10 fast to Victoria then a couple of buses.I'm hoping that there will be a light breeze to keep us all a bit cooler whilst we are walking.Even though I use a stick to get about its a nice gentle pace and noone gets left behind or too worn out.I hope you all have good things planned and LW you have a wonderful time on the Island I envy you as its my favourite place to go as my OH came from there and I spend many years going there with the children.Monnagran have a smashing holiday in Greece and no bringing home any spare marbles you see lying around the place .:)
Have super day everyone
Cheers JackieO xx

Good Morning JackieO and all to follow, your walk sounds great Jackie - enjoy.
Still full of cold and feeling a little sorry for myselfhopefully will get better over the weekend.
Nothing much planned today apart from dropping DD at the station at some point. Going to potter around the house, sometimes get more done that way.
Going to have our first barbecue of the year :j have got some leftover potatoes from last night so going to bake them with cheese and bacon to have with it.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend and are able to enjoy the weather.x0 -

Morning all,
Up at 6.30 this morning was just to hot to sleep, got one load of towels on the line and another in the wm, its drying in about an hour :j, and I am running out of things to wash, will do the bedding tomorrow.
We are off to my sisters tonight for a bbq and drinks, it will be a veggie bbq though, which is no good for my low carb diet, so I might buy a nice bit of fish, and either cook it seperatly or before we go.
I must get some charcoal in though, its nice to be able to cook outside in this weather.
We are saving to get the lounge done atm, looks like we might have enough by August, and I so cant wait to rip the carpet up, we inherited it with the house, and its a mushroom soup colour as are the walls, and both show every mark, and it feels dirty to me, we are having oak floos put down and I cant wait :T
Lamewolf have a great holiobs xxxx
Have good days all.
Could I ask you all remember to put some water out for the birds, they struggle to find some in this heat, I am having to refill mine every day as I have so many visitors0 -
Hooray it's saturday. Sunny again or scorchio as the weatherman sed yesterday. No plans for today having been out late last night and off to edinburger tomoz. I have a library book to go back, 2 to read and some suncream to apply :Dhave a good and non-burny day everyoneMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

JackieO - envy you studying history. I hope you have a brilliant day
Redruby - It's a good tip about water for the birds, but there are too many cats in the street. We are currently deep in cat wars. I do put out a wet sponge for the bees though, and a dish for the cats passing through. We are currently on the front line of a territory dispute.
Late back again from piano lesson so takeaway. I think I am going to formally make piano days takeaway days and plan round that. At least until I get a new slow cooker.
I hope to work around OH, darling father and little bear and strip down the kitchen. That is my target, but how much I'll manage is another matter. Little bear finally needs new school shoes - with half a term of school left. I am letting OH deal with that one, and I hope to be able to use the time they are out to advantage.
Darling father loathes the Eurovision, and OH doesn't like it now you can't hear Sir Terry getting steadily through a bottle of Irish whisky so I probably won't be able to watch it, which is a shame. I will be hunting throughout the house for any scraps of washing, so ironing tonight instead.
Hugs to allAnkh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

lamewolf/monnagran - hope you both have lovely holidays
was up early today so kitchen is cleaned, swept and mopped. washing machine and dishwasher are going. the wash basket is still empty  bedding is clean, towels are done... i've run out of things to wash:rotfl:living room could do with a major sort out. i didnt do it the other day
but my back and leg are giving me grief today. plus i want to get out in the sunshine.
the plan for today is wander into town and i'm hoping h & m have got some nice, cool maternity clothes in. they are usually cheap and cheerful. when we get back i am locking hubby in the garden til the grass and bushes are cut down and the garden looks tidy. might pop along to b&q as they have BOGOF this weekend. get few colourful flowers to go in the pots to brighten the garden up. also need some grass seeds and weedkiller.
we're off to hubbys nans for barbie later this evening as well so no cooking here. she is buying ds an 8foot trampoline  she doesnt spoil him or anything....
not much else to add. baby is growing (and kicking) well. still cant work out if i can actually feel the kicks or whether its still inside iykwim? :undecided everytime hubby tries to feel, baby stops moving :rotfl: maybe i should get hubby to keep his hand there when i am trying to sleep and my bladder is making a good trampoline
anyway have a good day all"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0
