Direct debit at Anglian Water

in Water bills
I pay several regular domestic bills by monthly direct debit and normally, the date that my bank shows as the date when the money was taken, coincides with the date at which the payment-in is shown in the company account.
This used to be the situation with Anglian Water, but recently, our account shows large differences (as much as three weeks) between the date when the money leaves our bank account and the date when it appears as a payment in our Anglian Water account.
At the very least, this makes difficult the reconciliation of accounts, but I wonder just what they are playing at?

Pay on their website with your debit card, this way you can control the payment and no fear of the direct debit being taken early.0
