    Speak for yourself.
I'm getting paid to sit at my keyboard (although I do have to do a bit of work every now and again).

:D As long as it's only "now & again".

I have two relatives who plumped for the course option. Neither of them showed any enthusiasm before going - lookin on it as a waste of time but something they had to do to keep their licences clean.

Both of them came back saying that they were pleased they had chosen that option as they had found it interesting and had learned quite a few new driving tips from it.

I knew someone who went on it and got caught speeding again shortly after. Dont think she learned much

Or maybe he has better things to do on a day like this rather than sit at his keyboard like us saddo's ;)

Certainly have, you just cannot waste this great weather. I will probably take the course, rather than risk the points, because insurance companies are pretty desperate to make money nowadays, and to them points = pounds.
I am 54 by the way.

Probably one of the most incorrect and dangerous bits of "advice" I think I've ever seen on this forum.

When I went on the course I didn't really learn much. The content seemed to be aimed at people who are too stupid to understand the Highway Code (e.g. revising limits on single/dual carriageways), or ridiculous BRAKE propoganda (go round a corner at 61mph and you'll HIT THE PACK OF BABY KITTENS ON THE OTHER SIDE, go round at 60mph and you'll be fine).

IMO it would be much more useful if they made you spend 3 hours with a driving instructor who could check all your driving and stop any bad habits you have picked up. But of course then the speed camera people would get less money, because that's a lot more expensive than watching a video, and money is what speed cameras are all about.

I haven't been caught speeding since, but it's more by luck than chance - I'm not going to slam on the brakes when going into a 30mph zone without good reason, and I'll happily break the stupid 50mph speed limits they're putting everywhere nowadays. If I get caught, que sera.

What do you mean, you got away with it?

DY, when did the offences occur? If a few years ago it's possible, but now the scameraships do everything by computer and very few, if any, fall between the cracks. The only real exception is when you're getting very close to a time out on the offence.
