Holiday inspiration for me and mum please!

Hello!

I want to take my Mum away at the beginning of September, and need some inspiration please. She doesn't really want to do a long haul flight (although I could probably talk her into a not too long one!), so we are really looking at Europe. Last time I took her away it was to Elounda in Crete, which she loved. I was thinking along the lines of Rhodes (neither of us have been there) or Mallorca, but am really open to suggestion. Not the Costa Del Sol please, as I used to live there so it wouldn't really be a holiday going back! We want a bit of luxury and near to a beach, but nothing too honeymoony and coupley! Something that would suit a mother and daughter.

Thank you

Mainly relax around the pool with maybe a little sight seeing thrown in if we can drag ourselves from the sun lounger! My Mum is in her 70s so relaxing is probably the way to go. I don't mind hiring a car and driving to get places either, but it would also be nice to have a small town/resort to be able to walk into. Sorry, I'm not being much help!

Puerto Soller in Majorca's nice and relaxing. You can hop on a tram to Soller then get a lovely wooden train (very scenic journey) into Palma if you want a bit of retail.
I was in my late sixties when I did this and thoroughly enjoyed it.
    Normal people worry me.

    Hi
I thoroughly recommend Rhodes town, there is something for everyone! The picturesque old town is steeped in history and very cosmopolitan ! Perfect for an early evening meal , and gentle stroll around the numerous shops. I stayed in the new town , in contrast is naturally very modern ,complete with its own `Marks and Sparks` to make you feel at home! Only a 20 minute walk will take you into the old town along the sea front where you can arrange any number or boats trips including the lovely resort of Lindos and also Turkey!

Thank you! I'm not sure I fancy a cruise, I don't like the idea of moving on somewhere new each day, and think that I might be a bit young for one! We're definitely looking for luxury so don't mind spending on a really nice hotel.
