Dabs were not exactly telling the truth
Evidentally - they are unable to source any - so class them as being "DISCONTINUED" !!
I am still trying elsewhere.0 -
O2 "may" have Nokia E7's - however they want to sell me a "sim free" one - that is LOCKED to O2 's network !!!
How does that work ?0 -
It'll only work on the O2 network, but with any O2 sim (including giffgaff), until you manage to obtain an unlock code. Generally you can buy them online for between £10 and £40, though I've not looked specifically for an E7 code so you'll need to do your own research.0

Thanks - but how can they even try to tie, what is my own property to their network ?0 -
Generally speaking a locked phone is sold at a subsidised price, they then recoup the difference by the fact that you need to use their services not someone else's.
Usually after your contract is up they will give you an unlock code for free.
You are, of course, free to modify that phone yourself once you buy it. I unlocked my HTC Desire for free as a side effect of the rather involved process needed to install Cyanogenmod on it, but this isn't really an option for Symbian.0 -

A SIM free phone is just that - a phone tied to their network but no contract or PAYG sim is providedThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Update:
Despite Nokia claiming that the E7 has not been discontinued
None of the companies/suppliers that they have advised me - can supply a sim free E7 are able to do so ...
O2 assured me that they could - repeatedly - but on trying to place an order, they turned out to have none !!!
Phones-4-U - similar
Leaving only Vodaphone - who, from the past (I was a "corporate" customer for 15 years) are not the best at replying to email enquiries (6 months being a short time for them)
Do Nokia not sell direct ?0 -
Nokia don't sell direct, but even if they did it wouldn't help you as the E7 is not even listed on the front page of their site.
The N8 is the most similar phone they offer. Still running Symbian! No keyboard though.0 -
The ridiculous thing about the whole situation is that I have the money and am willing to pay for the E7 - And in the current economic climate, this must be a rare thing
Yet I cannot buy one
I will have to leave Nokia for another company.....0 -
For anyone interested, here is a recent (this month) comparison review of 10 modern mobiles with actual real keyboards, ranging for 15 quid to a few hundred.
