iPhone fault- what are my rights?
In July 2010 I took out an 18 month contract with Vodafone for the iPhone 4. The contract ended earlier this year and I had the phone unlocked and bought a SIM only deal from tesco (£12.50/month instead of £41!). Recently, the "lock" button has almost stopped working. Vodafone said that there was a limited 1 year warranty so I'm no longer covered but I dispute this on the basis that mobile phone providers sell the phone with a 24 month contract so surely they expect the phone to last at least that long!
What do you think? Any advice?
Thanks for reading...

You didn't take a 24 month contract but an 18 month one which is finished - so get over it.
Take it to Apple store, might get lucky and get a free repair.0 -
Take it to an Apple store along with the original purchase receipt/copy of contract and see what they say.Debt in 2008 - £26000 Current debt - £59490

You have a right to sue Voda under the Sale of the Goods Act. However, the onus lies on you to prove that it is a manufacturer's fault, not wear/damage (or that it is not fit for purpose).what are my rights?

Am I the only one finding this extremely annoying?:money::mad::money::mad::money::mad::money:

Thanks for your responses. It seems to be a known issue so Apple can't reasonably deny it. I'll try calling them and see what luck I have...0

You can get the power button repaired for about £30, I'd go down that route0

Also how did you get it unlocked, as if not via official channels you void your warrantyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Vodafone unlocked it for me but they have since told me that this still voids the warranty which is quite annoying.0
