Samsung Galaxy S2 Problems. Help!

I got a Samsung Galaxy S2 back in January and I had no problems with it at all until the ice cream sandwich update came out. My apps kept crashing, the phone turned itself off for no reason and the battery life shocking, after being charged would last around 5-6hours when not being used.
I took it back to the shop where they wiped it and put the update on again incase it didnt install properly the first time. It solved the problems with apps etc other than the battery. So Carphone Warehouse said they would send it off for repair, but were able to offer me a replacement handset instead. I have had this nearly 2 weeks and am having the exact same issue with the battery life. I really dont know what to do as I need my phone to last longer than 6 hours and its not practical to be able to charge my phone everytime I go out. Its not what I want in a phone! Is there anyway I am able to change my phone to something completely different? Or cancel my contract? If so, how do I go about this?
Please let me know if you have any ideas, they would be very much appreciated!

Have you got apps running in the background - these can drain battery without you thinking anything is running. To check go to task manager, click on ram and press clear memory.
  • I am forever doing the task manager to get rid of any running apps as i know they dont turn off when you exit something. But seems to make no odds.
My phone is already on 87% and thats after taking it off charge around an hour ago, and sending and receiving around 10 texts.... its a joke!

I find it odd that even after over 6 months the Samsung have not been able to sort out the update. The galaxy S2 update is known for bugs.
You may need to wait for update of update to sort this out.
Also why have Samsung removed the S voice (copy of Siri) from all other products apart from S3.

Make you think if S3 is also going to have the same problems.
  • I know its beyond a joke. But it really annoys me that the phone people say "oh ive never heard of anyone else with this problem" but when you look online, im not the first one to have the issue. Which makes me think they arent even going to bother with the fixes they really do need to be making. Im not happy about paying to use a phone which doesnt work properly. Im sure that isnt in my contract.

do a factory reset and load the apps one at a time until you find the one that drains the battery ,
they still need resetting after a big upgrade even when the shop do's it ,
    its a bad app ,
and get a extended battery kit for it http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005FYHRY8/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff
