Just after I posted we got a phone call from the vet to pick Boxy's ashes up, so he is home now and we will lay him to rest this evening with Hoshi and Bit Bit his little Hamster chums. Funny but I feel better now that we have him home.

I need to live out of the freezer for a little bit again. I tried to fit in stuff from the delivery yesterday and it really was touch and go. I am not even sure what all of the stuff in the freezer is!
I have an Excel spreadsheet with the contents of the freezer listed, including which drawer everything is in! I have a similar sheet for the storecupboard. It may seem a tad OCD but it saves me having to rummage to find things, and I can keep an eye on stock levels and buy before we run out of things.;)

I had a boiled egg for breakfast with a bit of whole wheat toast and it was lovely I had treated myself to M&S organic free range eggs last week and at £2.79 for half a dozen they were a bit pricey but oh so gorgeous.Just like eggs used to taste before they became the insipid supermarket ones. They were extra large as well hence why I only had one but it was yummy .How sad am I drivelling on about boiled egg:):)
I totally agree with you - I haven't bought supermarket eggs for years; I get them from the Farmers Market, and they're always lovely. I always put "largest ones available" on the list I give to Mr LW.:D Oh bum... I fancy a boiled egg now!:rotfl:

*Nods understandingly* I was the same with Penny-Dog; her ashes were scattered in one of her favourite walking spots, it just seemed "right" iyswim.:o
    Sleep well, little Boxy.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I am on the warpath
Kids at secondary school at end of the road have always congregated for a crafty ciggie on our road and generally aren't a problem. However over the last two weeks since they broke up for revision or exams they have ban a total PITA. The litter left behind is horrendous  3 girls sat outside my house n the kerb and unbeknown to me left a load of litter outside my drive  they stand in the road and don't move out of the way aswell
So I have taken pictures an emailed a snotty note to the school. Woe betide anyone dropping anything else. If I catch them they'll get an ear full and at this rate I shall be picking it up and depositing it in the school office.

    Rant over :o

    Greetings.

I could get used to this weather! Thankfully this house is cool - not so thankful in the winter mind you - and it is quite comfortable as long as I'm indoors. Stepping into the garden is like walking into an oven. Hence I've given up any idea about doing anything in the garden this year. DS is going to come and give it a tidy-up while I'm away but usually by this time I've potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, onions, radishes, beans etc. all growing like mad. This year there's nothing. The Rev says that this year we must just accept that our veg will come from the farmers' market, thank goodness we have an excellent one just up the road. It's not the same though is it?

Much too hot to cook, or so I tell the Rev, so we are eating a lot of salad and fruit, plus a bit of icecream. Well, quite a bit of icecream if I'm honest. Am eating down the fridge and I'm almost there. DIL2B went off this morning with a few things I know we won't get round to eating.

Miffy: I also saw the bit about getting lower denominations but we had already got our currency. We're not relying on cards and we never do traveller's cheques so that's OK. Apparently cash is king at the moment. We did Kefalonia a couple of years ago and loved it.

nmlc: Your poor DM and DF. It's such a problem with difficult relatives. You wonder what they get out of being so unpleasant. At least your parents will know that they did their best for her however ungrateful she is.

LW: Really, really happy holiday to you. Look after my Island while I'm away. I won't be back until the 14th so will have to wait to hear how you got on.

Must renew my acquaintance with the ironing board.

Thank you Monnagran. Don't worry, I will look after the Island.:D

I'm going to sign off now, and get the netbook packed up - I shan't have a lot of time for online stuff, but I must keep up with my email or I'll be inundated with it by the time I get back.

See you in a little over a week, everyone.:o
