Staff at Cribbs Causeway said Head Office rang them after lunch to instruct them not to do seperate transactions, just to warn customers at the till that it was the cheapest plants that came off only. I went to CS and insisted I wanted them seperated.
How can they not do seperate transactions? you could just keep going round and round with 2 items IYSWIM, My guess is they couldnt be bothered and spun you a line
I used self checkout 3 transactions0 -
Thank you for this!
Got a load of lovely plants this morning.
The young man on the till was extremely helpful and put my things through in three transactions.
Got some good reduced plants.
I was wondering how come so many plants were Verves and I have a City and Guilds in gardening!:rotfl:Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Went to my local one today, spent about £60, got some lovely plants, some for the garden, some for pots, bargains.
Thanks OP.0 -
The_Old_Bag wrote: »Long queues at checkout as mentioned due to them having to do one transaction of 2 plants at a time to give you maximum discount.....To repeat what others have said, you MUST put items through in pairs and pay for them as you go. If you dont, regardless of what you have purchased, only the cheapest items will be free. I.e. buy two hanging baskets at £16.00 each and two pots of herbs at .99p each and you will be charged £32 and not £16.99. Only the herbs will be free. You have been warned. Neil
I'm just back having got 6 lovely plants. 2 at £5.99, 1 at £9.99 and 3 at £7.99. I put the 2 £5.99 ones through 1st and the lovely young assistant said I was the 1st person to do that in 2 days . She had been telling people but they 'couldn't be bothered with the hassle'.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

My local was extortionate. A huge amount of the grow your own range were wilting and dying. None were reduced. Even at the get another free promotion, they were overpriced for dying plants.
The healthy plants were overpriced too. For instance the sweet pepper plants were £7.99 each. Even with another free, that is way to much for my purse.
Very very disappointed
