Hi
I ordered multi room from sky, they confirmed delivery & fitting on sat 20th between 10-12. My husband took time off un paid time work to wait for the delivery. The engineer arrived and said we needed a DAT time so rearranged to fitting for Thursday (today). I received an email to confirm the fitting would happen between 11-1, so i arranged to start work later I'm self employed so was missing 2/3 hours of hairdressing clients.
An engineer arrived, I asked was he the DAT team... No, they hadn't asked for a DAT team, even though the guy on saturday had rang his manager & explained what was needed.
So the engineer rang the office they knew nothing about it, he rang the guy from Saturday. He confirmed what I had said, so he rang his manager again... Then left to go to another job.
I rang the office & explained everything, they said some would get back to me today. I got an phone call telling me the DAT team would arrive at 6.15/6.2o tonight & complete the installantion They told me that 2 guys where coming and gave me there names
So as we where both at work my mum came to wait at the house, one guy turned up saying he was there to asses not fit.
So now we have to wait till Saturday for the to come & do it.. Am I able to claim for lost time also compensation for their in ability...
Help anyone please?

"Compensation for in ability [sic]" - can you please put forward your expectations?0 -
Well, I've missed out on 3 hours of work, min £75 an hour. Which I've had to turn paying clients away for.
My husband has had to take a 8 hour shift off work £50, as they wouldn't let him start later. My mum has given up her free time to sit in our house.
So I'm not sure where I would stand to claim any kind of compensation.
While the engineers themselves have not been at fault I'm annoyed that the management & office staff haven't been able to sort the situation & keep changing their story's.0 -
In a word, no. The ground rules need to be agreed in advance, no after I goes wrong. If there is repeated incompetence, you can try to push for a goodwill gesture, but it will only be that, I'm afraid.0

Pardon my ignorance but what's a DAT team, last time I looked DAT was the TLA for Digital Audio Tape. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

As you are self employed, is there any reason why you could not have worked later/ rearranged your appts for another day?0
