If you have a Freeview or Freesat box with HDMI output you could easily use a computer monitor instead of a TV. Thoughts?

Oh yeah... forgot about that. :o

    Wait a minute!
This isn't the end of the tricks as somehow AOC has managed to cram 2x 2W speakers into the i2353Fh's skinny lines, but with extremely tinny audio most will turn them off.

General advice is to go to Richer Sounds and see for yourself - colour reproduction/sound are personal things which only you can decide.

they have a 22" LG LCD TV for £140, or you can get a Sony Bravia LED 22" for £230 http://www.richersounds.com/product/smart-tvs/sony/bravia-kdl22ex320/sony-kdl22ex320

(you could get a refurbed version of the same Sony TV from Argos for around £190 - http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/330737073149?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y )

The theory is that LED is better (certainly more expensive), supposed to produce better colour, and uses less power. But just pop into Richer and judge for yourself

Have a read of the attached, it is USA based, and ignore the prices, in the UK for example my Samsung LCD 32" is being replaced by a LED version at £30 more.

In theory a LED-backlit display will produce deeper blacks because each diode can be actuated individually, though whether the manufacturer actually implements this feature is another matter entirely.

They also tend to weigh less than their CCFL-backlit counterparts.

The difference, or lack of, is explained far better than I could here http://www.avforums.com/forums/11059771-post1.html It may be a old post, but it is still relevant.

Buy the TV that looks best to you. Don't worry about what it is lit with and how it works.
Richer sounds is a good choice to give you plenty to choose from.

I'm not aware of any sets that can actually do this, though I accept it is possible.
I expect the price of such a TV would be several thousand pounds:D
I suppose the closest cost effective attempt is called plasma.:)
