Annoying neighbours

I moved house today into an absolutely beautiful house. Brand new with a nice sized back garden, it's perfect.
Unfortunately, my neighbours are already annoying me.
There are two houses that back onto mine, and all day they've been in the back garden smoking weed, effing and blinding, and one of them keeps jumping on the trampoline to get a better look into my house.
I'm really bothered by the drugs, as I don't want to be sat in my garden and having to deal with the stench.
However, I also don't want to confront them and possibly cause hassle for myself. :(
And the neighbours beside us are awful too. I can hear the woman screaming at her kids constantly. And when she let the little mites out into the back garden, bits of brick and stone came raining over my fence, narrowly missing myself and my 7 month old son. She noticed, just as I was about to go and knock on her door, and then spent the next 5 minutes screaming like a lunatic at the kids (no apology though)
So disappointed that my beautiful house is surrounded by idiots :/ Gah.

I hope you're renting and haven't bought the place.

Indeed I am. I'm not sure whether to report these people to the HA as I know they'll be on a 'starter' tenancy

Blimey, you sound like the neighbour from hell to be honest. You've only moved in today and already you're thinking of reporting people!

I think after a couple of weeks if it hasn't improved or earlier if it is getting worse, then speak with the council and perhaps complain to your Landlord. The Council have more effective powers than the police in my friends experience with noisy neighbours, landlords don't want upset tenants (well good ones) so maybe they can intervene if they have experience of the neighbours. But the Council will be a good start, in my opinion.

Yes, because I don't appreciate people smoking drugs around my kids. It's not like they're a bit noisy or something, they're doing illegal drugs which I can now smell all over my house and in the clothes that I'd been drying on the line.
Sorry if my nasty habit of despising drugs makes me an awful neighbour

Launch a Leylandi offensive to blot the scum out.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    Haha. I can't, there's a she'd there. Suppose I could turn it into a treehouse...

It could be that it is not the neighbours that are using drugs but some friends they have visiting for the weekend.

Report them! It always grieves me when I see these lovely new housing estates being built and the HA immediately move a load of free-loading scumbags into them, the estate soon starts to resemble a war zone and decent, law-abiding citizens have to move from their perfectly nice houses, just to escape and get a bit of peace.

Why can't people be grateful for their accommodation? Why can't they look after their gardens and stop their kids from chucking rocks over the fence? As for smoking drugs in the garden, that's a real cheek. They obviously don't want it clogging up their kid's lungs but it's alright for you to have to breathe it in? Get on the phone first thing in the morning I say!

Yup - Start keeping a diary and contact the antisocial behaviour unit of your council. Noise/nuisance can be affected at any time of day, just you do need to work harder to prove it during social hours.

However the drugs/thrown stuff would be considered a problem at any time.
