Evening everyone, hope you've been enjoying the sunshine!
This is just a short update on posting competitions on the freebies board.
Since we launched our WOW deals forum feed we've noticed many of the "freebies" that appear in it seem to be competitions rather than definite freebies so we're going to ask that here on the freebies board we keep to genuine freebies from now on and that competitions go on the Competitions Board.
The exceptions would just be where
Thanks everyone!
Have a good evening

The exceptions would just be where
- everyone that enters a competition is guaranteed to receive something
- at least 1,000 prizes are available on a first come first served basis
Thanks everyone!
Have a good evening

Thanks Andrea
So if there are 3000 available for example it goes on the comp board unless its first come first served, is that right?

Hi Andrea,
Can't say I'm too keen on that idea.
I don't read the Competitions Board that much and in the past I've had good results from many that would now be relegated to that section.
Your own book giveaways would be a prime example of that
In my case it's down to time management ... I log on a number of times a day and have a quick scan of sections of the Forum I like or participate in and then move on. This would mean I would have to scan yet another section when I remember and if I forget or don't have time would miss out
I don't know about others but it's starting to become very time consuming keeping track ...the Forum is starting to lose it's simplicity these daysIt's not just about the money0 -

This section is called freebies no spend board and that is why I come to this section.
If I wanted to look for competitions then I would look at the comps board seems very simple to me and very lodigcal.
The books give away are posted on every section of this site so you wouldn't miss that one anyway.0 -

Where else is that posted then ???
I've always thought that competitions were just that "competitions" where you have to give a correct answer to a question to "win" a prize something etc
Whereas a "freebie" was something for nothing and all you had to do was "ask" etc
I have always been happy to accept if more people asked than there were items available then it becomes a lottery or similar.
I don't enter competitions and so don't bother reading the competition sectionIt's not just about the money0 -
The competition section tends to be manic and very fast moving, really not keen on this
Can't you just recruit a few more Board Guides to police Freebies and let them sort it out?0 -

the bg's do sort them out already, this just means moving all comps to the comps board which in my opinion makes total sense.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. i'm getting bored with mse - and I can't believe I've just written that. The forums worked marvellously for me till recently when the attempt to control became much more obvious & (imho), disruptive & intrusive. i don't look at competitions. 10000 samples very probably means everyone will get one. Yes, put it on the comps board as well, but not instead.0

Unfortunately this is not happening as you suggest, I have had post's moved to comps, one with 10000 samples, then in comps put to game over, yet others are being left, as you can clearly see as of today's date, and have been there for a few days.WarriorPrincess wrote: »i'm getting bored with mse - and I can't believe I've just written that. Could not agree more, 5000 is a realistic figure. Anything under can go to comps, but not just dumped there, communication with the comps BG's to ensure the title is amended for a comp, or the post is merged if the comp is already posted.
If there is a first come first served figure, it should not matter how many there are, be it 200 or 10000.To everyone at Ward 40, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, from the specialist to the tea lady, many thanks for everything.0 -

The only ones that I can see that have stayed on the freebies board is Walkers and Tropicana and that is because everyone gets a prize. Please send me a p,m if there are more that have been missed by the bg's.
If everyone gets something then its a freebie but if there are a limited number whether its 100 or 10,000 and its not on a first come first serve then its a comp.
Hope that helps
