Yeah defo! Going to use some of it just to cover my birthday picnic in late June and the rest will roll over to next month so I can blitz some more PDLS!
By the way you guys have been absolutely fantastic so thanks very much for all the help so far!The dirty dozen (as of December 2014) : ALL CLEARED!0 -
It's our pleasure to help.
It's good to see people doing what it takes to get things back on track. You're the one doing the hard work, though.

Hi
Well done you for tackling things so promptly. You may want to look at things such as your gas and electricity use to see if you can get these down further. There are loads of ideas on this site and if you are lucky you may be able to wing a cashback deal if you swap providers.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
The wheels it seems are already in motion. My pay has come in (its officially coming in on the 28th) and WageDay Advance thankfully have honoured their side of the bargain and taken out what they said they would to the penny. So I'm pleased to say I can change my sig for the better.
Hey TeaLady and thanks for the advice, I'm moving verrry soon so will definitely take a look into seeing if I can get a cashback deal of some kind in the new cheaper placeThe dirty dozen (as of December 2014) : ALL CLEARED!0 -

The main problem I see is the reasons for taking the PDL because your costs are low compared to income so should have plenty of spare cash.
Would I be anywhere near if I guessed gambling?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

Its not gambling just plain old !!!!less spending that got me into the PDL mess. Without the PDLs everything should be perfectly fine but my finances were in such a mess that I didn't have a clue what I was spending.

lol well thats a bonus, I only ask from experience that when people get PDLs and alot of them there is a high chance its gambling.
Ah well, you have a good excess of cash to deal with this so good luck in changing habitsDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Yeah this is all about changing habits which arguably have got me in this mess big time.
I decided to use some of my skills in IT to do some moonlighting offering PC repair and basic computer/internet training in my spare time to earn a little extra dough.
Also....the moment of truth has arrived: It is payday! And so far apart from Uncle Buck (who have simply taken the full amount anyway) everyone is behaving themselves and I have amended my signature accordingly. Swiftsterling I have decided to just pay off as it was too late to do much about and I can afford to get that monkey off my back.
The tax rebate (when it arrives this month) is the game changer I'm looking for but I'll be a lot more confident if I can get through to the end of this month without a major cockupThe dirty dozen (as of December 2014) : ALL CLEARED!0
