cigirex.co.uk incompetant or fraudulent

On 11thy April I was foolish enough to sign up for a free sample of E cigerette through cigirex.co.uk. On the 25th April I had not received a product so I contacted them and informed them that I had not received the goods and requested my details be removed from their records.
On the 29th cigirex took £26 out of my bank account and they have since taken out a further £20
They have now taken £46 from my bank account and provided no product. I have been in contact with them by telephone on 5 occasions to date and have been lied too and fobbed off with comments that a senior from customer support will return my call within 48hrs - for which they never do!!!!
The company has also had run ins with the ASA due to false advertising due suggesting thier cigs contained no harmful chemicals.

I can only suggest you avoid - If you have similar stories regarding this organisation please reply on this thread:mad::mad::mad::mad:

"free samples, pay only P+P" is internet code for plz give us your CC details so we can charge you exorbitant amounts monthly for which we might send you inferior products.

There are however free samples/products available on the interwebs (check relevevant MSE forum or HDUK site,) but any that ask you for payment details are scams.

There are many many example of this type of scam - often linked to by fake news pages extolling the virtues of said product, some popular examples include - work at home, acai berry/miracal weight loss, HGH tablets, teeth whitening kits, ecigs (as per post)

A famous example of someone who has made lots of money from these scams is Jesse Willms (lots of info online about him.)

The old adage "if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is" applys here - I'd suggest adding WebOfTrust(WOT) as a browser extension, this will not only let you know other peoples experiances/opinions of the site you are visiting but will also allow you to warn others of your experiences.

P.s. if you do apply for any of these deasl - don't bother contacting the company. Phone your bank asap and inform them that you have lost your payment card (that you used for the transaction.) The scam companies will have no qualms about giving your card details to other branches of their scams or selling them on to others.

Although I've not used them ecigs sound like a great way of giving up/switching to a healthier option and I have friends who highly recommend them. I can't post links yet buy if you google "ecig forum" top result should be a useful site which has an excellent WOT rating.

Ecigs work, i have used them to give up my 20+ a day "analogue" habit.

If you are going to buy one online stick to a trustworthy vendor.

SkyCigs, JuicyCigs and FreedomVape are three that I have used and can recommend.

Signing up for "trials" of anything and not reading the small print is a big no-no.

    HOW MUCH!

The refill prices/attempts to lock you into a rolling resupply on that site are extortionate!

My monthly refill costs are a full one-fifth of what they are asking!

The ecig itself also looks pretty puny, although the hardware is not grossly overpriced - Cartomisers tend to be the naff end of the e-cig market. They don't sell particularly well compared to refillable tanks or trditional cartridges so can often be picked-up at huge discount.

There is a massive e-cig thread here already with plenty of non-shonky sellers and alternatives. Take some time to have a browse. :)
  • I also fell foul of this company with similar amounts taken from my account. I saw the ad in the Daily Mail. As i had no joy with their so called customer service I decided to contact the advertising dept about them. So after monies coming out of my account April and May I have today been refunded the money thanks to the Daily Mail.:T:rotfl:

Same thing as the scammy acai pill sites charging people $80 (£50) a month for a bottle of acai pills when you can buy the equivalent on iherb.com /amazon etc for $8 (£5) a bottle.

I received an email and foolishly ordered some E-Cigs Electronic Cigarette for just P&P costs. In the confirmation email they tell me that they will automatically send refils after 15 days and if I cancel before the 15 days they will charge me the full costs i.e £39.95. I rang my CC and they suggested I cancel and they would fight any further charges made. Simpliest though is not to trust the !!!!!!s.

I can get their web page if anyone wants to know what to avoid.

  • I too ordered the cigirex menthol starter pack from one of my dad's sunday newspapers and it cost me £6.90 altogether.

I ordered it on the 16th of Jan, and received the product today. The product itself doesn't look too shabby.

Reading through the paperwork that come with it it seems that I have been signed up to their program in which they debit the account every month with the fee of £29.95+p&p. This would be fine if I had signed up to it. My issue with this is, on the website it offers you the option to do this, but having not ticked the box and followed the process I am a bit baffled as to how and why I am now part of this program.

I intend to go through the cancellation process for it, but as for everything else I have no issues with Cigirex or the customer service side. They kept me informed of my order and replied to any questions I had within 24hrs (even though order tracking was unavailable)

My opinion may be changed if they debit my account or I can't cancel the program, but so far so good.
  • To all potential e-cig users - don't bother with any of these advertised products. There are far better products out there if you google around. There are numerous British suppliers of ecig products who provide prompt, reliable and very inexpensive products which are far superior to any of these advertised brands. They are also small companies and are happy to answer any queries. They offer starter packs for around £30 and from then on you can get away with around £20 a month on juices and replacements parts. I mainly use Liberty Flights, but there are loads more out there, and there is also a UK vaping forum where more advice can be obtained

    http://ukvapers.org/

Don't fall for these inferior advertised products which could easily put you off ecigs before you even start.

What's more, the flavours available from these smaller companies are so numerous that you'd never get through them all. Suffice to say whether its normal tobacco flavour, methol, coffee, fruit, chocolate, pina colada, whisky, even banoffee pie flavour you want - they'll have it. Think of a flavour and you'll get it.

Started vaping 2 years ago and would never go back to analogue now.

Don't give up on ecigs - there are suppliers out there who'll make you glad you went for it.
