You were cautioned before being questioned ....."you don't have to say anything etc...."

You did not accept a formal police caution - that is something that is somtimes offered later instead of being charged with an offence (and only if you accept you are guilty).

    Yo uhaven't had a caution.

You've been cautioned (so that anything you say can be used in evidence).

They will have said something along the lines of
"You do not have to say anything, but anything you do say can be used as evidence. You are not under arrest and you have the right to legal advice"
    followed most likely by
"You will be reported for the question to be considered of prosecuting you for one of more of the offences of careless/dangerous driving..."

After which you've received a letter giving yo uthe option of an awareness course instead of points/being prosecuted.

If you take the awareness course then you will not have any convictions against you from that incident. If you go to court you MIGHT end up wit ha conviction against you, but if it remains a traffic matter it is unlikely to show up on a CRB check (don't know definatively off the top of my head, sorry).

cheers ill have to get a absolute answer from tfl - clearest answer cheers

Don't expect any sensible or quick answers from the idiots that answer the phone at Palestra.

I have never heard of somebody being offered driver awareness course for possible "careless driving", I suspect if it was a minor incident they might have said "driving without due care and attention", which is a slightyl less serious offence.

As far as your CRB goes you have already done it as TMG CRB do the checks and when you are given the reference number to put on your form that is actually the disclosure number that will appear on your CRB Disclosure paperwork.

I think you will need to inform them that there is an outstanding prosecution, but if you read the form it will say it there, I filled mine out in Feb and just got my licence through this week. ust did it as a back-up whilst on KoL.
