Thanks for this, that's probably true. So is there a place I can see the "cashback" balance going up as I spend? Or is it just a matter of waiting for credits to my account? Do I expect credits every month?

On every online monthly statement (I went paperless quite a while ago) I get there is a section called "Your Cashback". It shows the amount of cashback earned that month, the running total and when the payout date is.

Ok, I can see on the online statement "Anniversary date 07 Sep 12, This month 26.16, This anniversary period 73.62" - so I guess that is much more like what I expected. So I guess the "Anniversary date" is the date of payout? And does that mean it is paid out once per year?

Barclaycard card scrapped the old scheme and have introduced what on the face of it looks like the same scheme again. Why? Now I have to cancel and replace my card, what was the point of this?
